Red LED Chart Light

I saw a red LED Chart Light in a Police vehicle and thought it was a really neat idea. I don't like turning on the white lights in my cab at night, and unfortuntately the buttons on my Chinese Stereo don't light up. So, I just ordered a Red LED Chart Light.

I will update this thread with photos of the install. I like that it comes with an on-off switch on the base.

Have you thought about changing the cab light festoon bulbs to red LEDs?

Actually, yes. It was something I looked at, but after having seen the chart light in action - and given that it cost me about $20 off of eBay I opted for the chart light.
In fact, I already have superbright White LED Festoon bulbs in my Delica.

Yep Take bulbs out, put new in. LED only work one way so test and reverse as needed.
Canadian Tire does not have LED.
Popeyes does if in Vancouver

Some Canadian Tires do have LED tail lights and reverse bulbs - but no cabin lights that I have seen to date.
I ordered my original LEDs from Superbright - and they are great, but the duty charge on them was obscene. I would buy local given the option now due to the added cost from Duty.

Shipping to Blaine or Point Roberts is the solution

Prices for the new style LED light bulbs on this side of the border are just crazy.

I use little pieces of green cellophane on the inside of the map lights, held in place with a little spit ~ works wonders and it goes with my instrument cluster!
Falco.

I paid $12.00 each locally (actually I paid 10.70 but the price went up the last time I was in)
how much are you paying US? The are 360 bulbs very bright I think 6 LED per bulb 0.05amp

how do you define "very bright"?
what kind of light temperature?
what LED style of these two?
Regular LED festoon bulbs are $3 - $4 each, high output festoon bulbs are $7 - $15 (from Superbrightled)
You can get them even cheaper ($0.99 + shipping) if you look on ebay

What did you do to win a seat in the Police vehicle? Or were they just curious about your Delica?

I am actually very close friends with some fine Police down in the Seattle area. I have done ride alongs as well. Got to sit in a Police SUV while doing 110 MPH down side roads with lights and sirens. That was a bit exhilarating!
