That is awesome that you got it back! If Robbins insists on charging you for parking I would take the charge to small claims court myself just on principle.

Definitely challenge the ticket on principle but do it in a non challenging way. always document and make notes of who you talk to when and what you talked about. the method below can be either written or by telephone. telephone is normally to their advantage and can resolve things quicker whereas writing will take time but everything is well documented and no need to try and remember things. if calling you can ask for confirmation of what they have said to be sent to you in writing.

when you contact the parking group get information first without giving them information. ask them what is their policy on tickets and when are tickets rescinded or waived and for what reasons. arm yourself with as much information as you can and try to do it politely with out all the emotions of someone trying to get out of a ticket. once you have your information ask to talk to a supervisor and explain how under their own policy your ticket should be waived. if you get nowhere with the supervisor then ask for the contact details of their superior or next up the chain. do not talk to the next person up at this stage but let them know you will call back later. do this right up the chain of order until you finally get someone who will listen. FWIW i have gone as far as contacting directors and board members and normally explain a very simple thing to them. i see i have no choice to take this to court as i am the victim of a crime and your company is taking advantage of the situation. i hope you don't mind if i summons you to court for you to explain the policy of your company and why victims of crimes are penalized further after already going through a traumatic experience. i have use this method to have claims by insurance companies reversed after initially being rejected. if you have the time and patience too follow it through then go for it but if you prefer no hassles then just pay up.

Its great that you got your van back. Nice end to a sad story. Its not hard to run the Injection pump solenoid wiring through the cigaret lighter. When you pull the lighter out the circuit is open and the solenoid stays shut so no fuel flows to the engine. Its an
easy cheap imobilizer that no thief will ever figure out. Saludo's.

I'm not sure I understand how to do that, the lighter is normally open until you push it in, at which point it closes the circuit, so far this works, but then the lighter heats up and pops out, opening the circuit again... or are you talking about modifying the lighter piece itself to be more like a solid lug? (doesn't heat up, doesn't pop out on it's own)... interesting idea...

Exactomundo Fonzie! Using the existing power feed, rewire it to switch the wire feeding the solenoid. Easy, cheap and almost
impossible to detect without a lot of patience and a test light or multi meter. Then when you want to secure it even more you just remove the lighter plug from the van altogether. You need to disable the resistance element in the plug (so it doesn't heat up anymore) then it won't pop out. It works out like the deadman switch on a snowmobile or boat.

You got a cigarette lighter on your snowmobile?

I guess we're getting a little off track here. Apologies to the bosses.
