Re: Arduino?

everything is starting to make sense now :P trying to get servos to move L300 controls would just be a giant headache i think, because why put a motor on it, when your finger does a better job more reliably :-D

Re: Arduino?

looks like a pretty cool platform! but the only question i have is this: the temp controls on a delica are all manual, cable operated jobs, so you would need to run a servo on them would you not? and would that jack the cost of said endeavor to an unrealistic level for the benefit? dont want to be a...

Also i have a winter front on the rad, (basically a crazy carpet in front of the rad. i can get it started in -42, it doesn't like it..... at all, but i can get it going. As far as the trans...

Re: Oldest and highest mileage bus?

i am somewhere around 203k kms on mine. Its survived two winters so far, and making its way though the third, we will see how that goes. This is my 4th winter in Yellowknife, and the van does remarkably well in -35 to -40 considering how hard on vehicles it is

Re: Diesel Fuel Cetane Ratings

i generally have been adding 2 stroke in the summer time, in the winter it gets too cold to pour, so i get lazy and just fill with diesel. might try some additive next time, to see what happens.

Re: Sliding door won't open

This happens to me all the time when dummies hold the handle when i unlock the door. my solution? get in close my door, sit on the console and lock the doors with my right hand on that knob and pull up on both that knob and the sliding door knob at the same time. I have a +3 ape index though and lon...

Re: Be honest...

yeah these vans have dismal front end crash ratings. you kind of are the crumple zone, so i would avoid the drafting, in case of problems. you could do it 100 times with no issue, but its the 101st time that will kill you.

Re: Too Fu#@in Cold and She won't start!!! :(

When you are cranking, floor the throttle, and wait for the revs to start to come up. ease the throttle back when it catches, to around 1000 to 1200 rpm. and hold it there for a bit. if you have a throttle lock, after youve gotten it going set it around there. That will help. and yes a proper block ...

Re: Neoprene insulation.

I am thinking about building a bulkhead that closes off the cab in the winter time, so there is less space for me to heat, if i make it out of that hard pink foam insulation board i can carve it to the shape i want. unfortunately i should have done this in the summer as its now -40 and too cold for ...

Re: Switching from 2WD to 4WD

if you have manual locking hubs and they are locked, you can shift on the fly between 2H and 4H. to shift into 4L you need to be stopped and in neutral. The auto hubs stay locked until you reverse in 2H.
