Re: Found something slower than my Delica!

Looks like it's going to be a lot of pavement; way too much pavement. The most pathetic part is that the chase vehicle is a Subaru WRX. I am having a heck of a time finding someone willing to stare at the arse-dragging 80kmh Mog for days on end. I should be looking at long distance cyclists, ultrama...

Re: Found something slower than my Delica!

this is as far as I have gotten with the expedition camper. The roof raises up about 2 feet so that the cabover isn`t so claustrophobic. The idea with the rising roof was to keep overall height down (which is almost double that of the Delica!!). I am just over 11 feet tall and with an A/C on the roo...

Re: Found something slower than my Delica!

Well I am finally pulling out the tent pegs and moving camp. My destination will be Duncan BC. I am trying to sell my Delica here on the East Coast. I will then drive the Unimog across Canada which is the highway driving equivalent of watching paint dry. Keep your eyes open for the big blue mog with...

Delica Exceed in Quebec (Gaspê Region)

Hi If there is anyone living in the East of Canada who wants a Mitsubishi Delica. My 1990 Delica is for sale. It has 115 000 kilometers. For more info and pics on it, you can check my posts/profile by "lost1." I am taking offers on $7000. The roof rack and bullbars are getting rusty and co...

Re: Delica Repairs in Nova Scotia

I am in Matane (Gaspesie Region of Quebec). I don't claim to be an expert, but I have had mine for several years. I have a pretty good idea of what to look for. This may be as close finding another Delica owner as you can get.

Re: bypass neutral indicator switch

Here are a few pics. This pic gives you an idea of the location wire picks 002.JPG This pic shows you the two large wires (black w/ white and black w/yellow) that are spliced togther and amateurishly taped together. Ignore the other taped wires (blue and red) that are on the lower part of the pic. T...

Re: Found something slower than my Delica!

To get the mog to my driveway was a relatively simple operation. Find Unimog on credible website. Send bank transfer. Arrange road transport from dealer to shipping port. Hamburg has a RORO shipping port which means vehicle can be driven on and off boat. Cross fingers and wait in Halifax for boat to...

Re: Found something slower than my Delica!

Hi To answer a couple of questions Yes the mog will be fitted with a full camper. I am building the camper myself and the roof will lift up to give more headroom when parked. I will be doing some serious overlanding through North and Central America much like the link of coaxial's friend in Europe. ...

Found something slower than my Delica!

My new Unimog 85 kph max speed. Just brought it in from Germany. It will replace the Delica as the family overland expedition vehicle.

Re: bypass neutral indicator switch

on the right side of the transmission you will find a wiring harness with at least 8 wires coming from it. The two thickest wires are the ones that will bypass the neutral switch. I connected all of them in one way or another and these were the only two that allowed the van to start so I bridged (as...

Re: bypass neutral indicator switch

Ok I did it. I couldn't remove the neutral indicator switch (it was well stuck in place), but it did manage to connect the two largest black wires coming out of it. The result is hopefully a Delica that will start (or at least power the starter) in any gear regardless of the outside temperature...

Re: bypass neutral indicator switch

The thought of trying to warm up the transmission would be a challenge for any kind of heater. What I would like to do is find the wire that comes from the switch (located in the transmission) disconnect it and short circuit it. Any ideas?

bypass neutral indicator switch

I think I have a problem with my automatic transmission gear position sensor switch. For some reason when it gets really cold (think Quebec winter) I do not get power to my starter. I have tried to adjust the cables on the shifter, and fiddle with the wires etc but I still haven't been able to solve...

Will take your old L300 headlights

Anyone has an old pair of L300 headlights that are oriented for driving on the "wrong" side of the road? If they are cheap, I am interested in them.

Actually either japanese or american light configurations are fine.

thanks
