Re: 2wd and 4wd delicas

It's funny, because the 2wd's are actually very common in Australia - my grandfather has a camper like the one above! They're almost so common they have a little bit of a stigma attached to them, in that they are just a "boring" van. They were never sold as delica's though, and never had t...

Re: By Far THE coolest trailer for a Deli

Ah, I guess the terminology would have been better had I stated "resistant". Kind of like a digital watch, the trailer has more of a 1m water resistance, while the Delica has 100m water resistance... which would you choose to go swimming with? Sorry, I also have to deal with a gf who is a ...

Looks like a trip down to Vancouver, Washington is in order Falco: WASHINGTON XRV & Eco Trailer Sales (map us) 13701 NE 4th Plain Blvd. Vancouver, WA 98682 www.goxrv.com Are they bear proof? I'm doubting it... will have to put the mother-in-law out in the trailer tent while we sleep safely in th...

Re: New member from South Australia

G'day mate!

Welcome aboard... although I don't think I've got the status of welcoming people yet, as I don't have a van yet, but I wanted to ask if yours was the van pulling a stoppie on youtube?

EDIT: Nope, wrong colour... it was white.

Re: ticking after start up...injectors??

Hmmm, with Subaru's its usually quicker than that... I think what I mentioned is similar to one or two of the things that Mardy mentioned. I'm starting to agree with the exhaust leak guys, as the long drive you've recently done may have accelerated the deterioration of the gasket or whatever it may ...

Re: ticking after start up...injectors??

Just an outside view, and I'm not sure if it impacts on the Deli engines at all, but with early subaru engines, if you use the wrong sort of oil the lifters on the cylinder heads get really noisy - tap tap tap. If you use an oil that is too thick on cold start up then they'll tap like buggery until ...

Re: Delica in Quebec!?!

I know that David (Delicat) is out of the country, and probably won't see this for a while, so I'll put in that he has sent two to Quebec for his family as far as I know, so theres at least a couple more out there!

Re: How Hot is Hot

does anyone know if the temp gauge in deli's is ã direct correlation to the engine temp, or "peaked" like in later cars? I think this q has come up before and I think it was direct, which could explain why you see such ã change when you switch it on, where as with newer cars it doesn't see...

Re: Trouble with waste gate acctuator...

Does it boost up okay?

If the wastegate actuator isn't working properly then it will cause issues with boost, as if it isn't closing properly it will be bleeding off pressure before it peaks.

When does it make the squealing noise? All the time, or when boosting it up?

Re: How Hot is Hot

It still works on most cars Christine, probably because it aids the flow of cooling air through the engine. I used to do it on my old nissan when doing shuttle runs up the mountain. It's not going to do a whole bunch, but more just that extra little bit of insurance against overheating.
