Re: Anyone know where to find these?

Well it's been about a week and I haven't received a reply from the Kazakstan company. It may be for the best. fredt, thanks for the posting the other option. It's good to know about. I'm going to hold out awhile longer and keep my fingers crossed that a pair of the covers will show up. Thanks every...

Re: Anyone know where to find these?

Thanks for the find BigBird. I've sent him an email.

I don't think my conversion from 3000 Kazakhstani Tenge to $18 CDN is right. Good deal if it is though!

Re: Anyone know where to find these?

I lost one of my black headlight covers and haven't been able to find a replacement. I originally bought them on ebay but nothing has come up in a few months of checking. Anyone have a good source for these? I just need the driver side cover for a L400, but will buy the pair again. I can't seem to a...

Beware of Rising Sun Auto

After reading plenty of posts on Delica.ca, I was quite leery of dealing with Rising Sun Auto. Well it didn't take long to regret giving Steven my business. If you deal with Rising Sun Auto, beware that he won't take returns on used parts that he sells and watch his math. His return policy was not p...

Re: 94 l400 bucking when cold

Well the new injectors are in and so far so good. Totally smooth starts. No hiccups, misses or bucking. Whoo-hoo!!! :-D So after 7 months of trying to figure out this issue, the main lessons learned are: 1) Dealer said glow plugs were replaced with 'good' ones. They weren't new though. Dealer then r...

Re: Glowplugs again (sorry)

It seems to be that too often, burnt glowplugs, are blamed for hard starting, but are the symptom of a bigger problem, not the cause. Along this line, when I started my L400 when it was already at operating temp, my glow plugs would stay on at full voltage for the full 3 minutes. I believe this was...

Re: 94 l400 bucking when cold

Thanks Firesong. I ordered some new ones from ebay UK. Went with the full injectors (ME200204) instead of just the nozzles (ME731687).

$330 CDN includes washers. Plus I expect to pay some duty.

Re: 94 l400 bucking when cold

Well the screen at the fuel pick up was clean as a whistle. No chunks or goo anywhere in the tank.

Onto the injectors....

Re: 94 l400 bucking when cold

I hear you on the excuses Dino. I'm out of good reasons to give for the smoke and rough starts. Warmer temps mean it's no so bad now, but I still want to find the cause(s). The two things I'm thinking of doing next are: - replace injectors. They were cleaned and tested by dealer, but so were the glo...

Re: 94 l400 bucking when cold

I'm in a similar boat as Dino. Last November I bought a diesel 95 L400 with 74,000km that has started poorly since I got it. Neither myself or the dealer have been able to fix the cold start problem (smoke, misses, rough etc). I won't get into the story about why I bought a rough starting van... Som...

Bouquet for Mardy at Amazing Auto!

Mardy did a lot to try and get my van starting correctly. I had to do multiple trips back and forth between Victoria and Vancouver as he tried to work through cold starting issues. He helped the process by driving for ferry pick up/drop off. I knew that getting a Delica would likely involve dealing ...
