Re: Rant
...one of the guys at JB auto parts. ... when I innocently asked him if they have any Delica parts listed, the guy had a meltdown. Ha, same thing happened to me a year or so ago at JB. Came in looking for a part, with some part manufacturers + their numbers, asking if he could supply (or xref to su...

Re: Oil leak from tiny part
I usually would be in high 3rd or 2nd from 2,700 - 3,000 rpm I think. Interesting if that is normal speed over the Malahat though. I've only ever driven one other L300 (the lender at CC autos) and it sure was fast! Cleared the Malahat no problem at like 70 or 80. Would be interesting to test drive ...

Re: Big ol' post on keeping your diesel running cleanly...
Apologies if not exactly on topic, but related to other posts in this thread at least. I found this study to be very interesting. It concludes that using 2% soy-based bio-diesel as a lubrication additive for ULSD is better than...well, have a read: http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/attachment.php?att...

Re: Glow plugs.....glow plugs.....
I replaced all glow plugs today with: HKT # CP-06 Ref. # MD 092392 MODEL Mitsubishi 4D56. These new plugs looked the same as the old ones I removed, same size, same thread, etc. I replaced everything exactly like it was before: the wires, the bar. And now there is no "click" at all when I...

Re: L300 smokey on startup and rough idles for a few minutes
Hello, just curious how long does it take for the smoking and rough idle to disappear? Also the black liquid could be water depending if you have a catalytic converter. I am also curious you say we have the same engine as you but yours lack a turbo, do you know what type of injection system you hav...

Re: Not that it's important - but what about the Mazda MPV?
...I just did a search on the forum for "Mazda MPV" since it is - after all - the only Japanese built 4WD Minivan that ever made it officially into Canada / the USA. Guess what... not one single mention that I could locate on this forum despite attempting to fine-tune my search criteria.....

Re: Enduring clicking sound...
When I turn the key on my Deli in the morning, I hear a clicking sound coming from under me, slightly behind and to the right. The sound comes every second or two, goes on for a little while, and then stops eventually (no more than 2-3 minutes). Is this normal? Clicking is normal, but in my experie...

Re: German 1989 L300 build
Same procedure as always: Sand with 240 grit, degrease with acetone and paint. I was told to degrease/acetone/Pre-cleano 1st to remove any waxes/silicone before sanding (otherwise that stuff that paint doesn't stick to gets ground into the old paint)...then degrease again immediately before paintin...

Re: Roof Rust
It probably stays dry because of that nice layer up in the ceiling. Much like an attic in a house. Ventilation and possibly insulation would serve well. Now on the other hand if our "non-crystal-lite" brothers and sisters were to chime in, perhaps this theory could have legs. Have you wok...

Re: First person to spot a Delica on Google StreetView wins
I do have a life, honestly
Am at work testing an app and lo & behold the 1st location I randomly clicked (3420 Channel Parkway) returned me a Delica:
Just as well, as the one in my previous post above seems to have driven away.

Dealership may be more receptive to trying to source OEM parts from Mitsu Japan for a repair shop than (histor...
