Re: What to expect?

all a deli-tune is, is an ultrasonic cleaning and balancing of the injectors. I think Butch ups the IP pressure a tiny bit. Hardly say this makes for a big improvement unless you had a big problem to start with. (I had CVI do this on my first P35)Added boost pressure with increase of fuel pressure w...

Re: Very bad day in Delica Land

Sure but no head gasket should cost that much, just sayin'. But he's a hero all right. 2 days in a gas station parking lot, in above 30 heat and he's on the road again. Apparently lots of old timers came along to see what he was doing and were pretty blown away, as am I. How many people swap head g...

Re: Window Fix

Bought new channel fuzzies from Steele rubber co, and 4 guide clips(two per front window) to solve the issues. The guide clips (if placed properly) will stop the issues rolling the windows up at speed;) That sounds like the right idea bionic!! Do you remember what kind of fuzzy channel you purchase...

Re: Pyro (EGT) Install. Best place to get Power?

Finally installing a pyro on my L300. One question, where is the best place to hook into power for the gauge? It will be going in the 3 gauge pod. I ran my pyro off the ign power for the stock radio.. Can't remember the color, just used a volt test light until I found the correct one. If you curren...

Re: Is L400 centre floor pre-drilled for both types of seats

Don't know for sure with the l400, but the l300's are configured specific for the seating arrangement ordered. I tried to install a center chamonix bench where my current captains chairs where, and had to drill/weld new studs for the sliders. The l400 has a swiveling center bench which has a center ...

Re: Engine rattle

Sounds like you don't have enough oil sitting on the top of the engine, maybe get a thicker oil for summer so it will leave a coating residue overnight. Christine. I'll check the oil level. I'm running 15W40 synthetic though so it shouldn't be problematic, I've run that every summer for the last 3 ...

Re: A.C. head-scratcher

So... Im searching the boards and decided to revive and old one here... My a/c is not working, go figure. The clutch is not engaging on the compressor. I have not tried a manual bypass, but I did a hand test and the compressor spins freely. I also did a half a** job of checking the system, just on ...

Re: 93 L300 Brake Drum Removal

Be carefull not to tap too hard on the outer drums cast shell, its not built for impacts, and will chip/crack if provoked. Make sure your E-Brake is off. If the drum is heavily worn, you will not be able to pull the drum shell off easily and will have to use the threaded holes for extraction. (do th...

Re: Transmission slip 1st/2nd

Ok thanks, I'll have a look this afternoon. That would cause that bad of a thump though? I don't really get any vibrations while driving or any strange noises when I put it into .

your likely correct, just an easy preliminary check to look at the rear ujoints and pinion. The trans is...

Re: Transmission slip 1st/2nd

A clunk under load changes can also be your ujoints or rear pinion....even a bad torque converter, although that will generally cause slipping not a clunk. Check your joints/ pinion first.. Easy to check yourself, do a google on it.

Re: Post IP rebuild

I had mine rebuilt there a swell hoping it would start and burn cleaner(Black smoke), didn't really help with either much, have since replaced the injectors and that did help make it burn a bit cleaner but I think my timing must be off yet...can most big diesel repair shops do a job like this? we h...

Re: Post IP rebuild

The pump wasn't calibrated properly. Ask how they set the timing , as it is very involved, and requires some impressive equipment which I know they didn't have at their shop last I was there... Butch/Edwin are nice guys, but some things aren't based soley on mechanical ability, or the willingness to...

Re: vacuum lines

The solenoid on the side of the engine bay near the radiator (passenger) is your Boost control solenoid. It is important for your IP, and cannot be looped together as it will cause a vacuum which will engage the throttle. The lines on top of your valve cover are for the EGR. Ok to keep closed if th...
