Re: Rear axle replacement for 1992 L300?

Thanks a lot, guys! This is super helpful. I haven't had time yet to work on it, and the craigslist link is gone. If the guy who comes by tomorrow doesn't buy the van, I'll work on it when back from holiday in a month. ...it's rusting and leaking close to where the wheel is attached towards the axle...

Rear axle replacement for 1992 L300?

Hello D-world My van developped a leak in the rear differential (?) very recently. I hoped it's just some seal leaking, but had my mechanic (who has done some work on the van before, but is in no way a Delica specialist) look at it. They said that in their opinion, the rear axle is rusting through, ...

Re: wheel bearings or ball joints loose? would I notice?

Thanks Rezdiver for the details. I talked with the mechanic again and will now have him just have a look at all the bearings/tighten what's necessary and grease up whatever he can find to grease down there. I haven't done a very good job at keeping up with nipples and other things that need to be gr...

So this is nothing that warrants 5hrs of labour? He was making it sound like it was complicated and time consuming.

wheel bearings or ball joints loose? would I notice?

So, I finally ended up paying for an oil change because I had no time-no oil-no oil filter-was 1000km overdue. Was expensive. The lovely people at Napa rotated my tires, though, and checked the van, and found that by lower ball joints "have excessive play". I drove 1000km the day after, an...

spy camera on icefields parkway

I got the camera there to monitor wildlife crossing the cattle guards (they shouldn't, we hope to keep them off the highway), but once in a while I get beautiful specimens from other species on camera! Nice van!

Re: What's this part?? I broke it.

Will do that (plug the vacuum line holes). Thanks a lot for the help everyone!

... and about the valve: I can post some pics once the conversion is done, or to just look at the valve: http://www.frybrid.com/parts.htm#valve
I think it's the regular one.

Re: What's this part?? I broke it.

steven, you're right, it's the AC vacuum solenoid. Since I never use the AC (I always have it on "OFF"), does that mean that I can just leave it as is? And leave it to the next owner to fix it if there ever is a next owner that wants AC? or will something get destroyed that way? I read tha...

What's this part?? I broke it.

Hello! While installing a WVO conversion kit (yeah! nearly there!), I accidentally broke a part  that now needs to be replaced (see pics). It seems to be some sort of a sensor (got wiring attached). Anybody knows what it is, where to get a new one etc etc??? Help is highly appreciated. The va...

1991 Exceed seats for sale

I can nearly copypaste bytheriver's post!: I'm selling the back bench seat and the two swivelling captains seats from my 1991 Mitsubishi Delica Exceed which was written off a few months back. The seats were never in the vehicle while I owned it and are in good condition as far as I remember (haven't...

Re: Good bye... Van on fire.

i really have no idea how that could happen. then again, the repairs and things the previous owner had done to the van weren't all great, eg we were told the belts are done but then only one was done, so we nearly destroyed the motor. and in the first week the car had nearly burnt down due to faulty...

Re: Good bye... Van on fire.

I have no idea either how the block heater could have caused the fire, but some online research showed that it does happen. I hadn't checked it before turning it on yesterday, since it was installed only two years ago and there were never any problems. Maybe it has something to do with the breaker o...

Good bye... Van on fire.

That was it for me with Delicas, at least for the time being. Yesterday night I used the block heater for the first time this winter, plugged it in at midnight, and at quarter past 1 the van was in flames. It's completely done. Will see if ICBC will cover this (I do have comprehensive), but I guess ...
