Re: Wheel spacers

This could be a pretty controversial topic. I would start off saying that the l300 has a very low center of gravity, and is not very tippy, however the short wheelbase and body height cause many to perceive it as being tippy. If it is indeed feeling unstable, before adding width to it I would recomm...

I’m still here

Hi all. Just a quick note to say I’m still here, but first, my apologies to those who have tried to contact me over the last few years. About 7 years ago I took a break from everything non-essential in my life to focus on trying to save my marriage (I was unsuccessful) As I am rebuilding my life, I ...

Re: alternater regulator

Try Ace Auto and Electric on Logan Ave. They have usually given same day service with the alternator rebuilds I've sent there in the past.

Re: trans canada road trip

I haven't been on the forum for a couple weeks, but I did get a text from Delicat yesterday, so I'm probably the Dauphin MB contact. I'm not along the #1, but I've got lots of oil. Might be worth it to detour a bit.

Re: vacuum lines

I can't tell for sure from the pics, but are the other ones boost pressure from the turbo, perhaps for routing to the wastegate, or a boost gauge, or are they in fact vacuum lines?

Re: Home made fender flares?

There is always the "disposable" fender flares. Aka lawn edging. It's cheap, rips off easily in the bush without causing body damage, and would look like a factory option if you have a "getto snorkel" :-D I'm holding out for a set of the factory flares for my l400, but I forsee a...

Re: Coolant leak...not the expansion bottle

You won't be able to move the linkage far enough out of the way, but if you remove it, you can do the o-ring in place. It's a bit tricky getting the springs back on the linkage, but much easier than removing the IP. Study the springs and linkages, maybe even take a picture or two to make sure you ge...

Re: Lil' Leak

When it's leaking near the timing belt, it's a gamble. Most play it safe and get it fixed, as a ruined timing belt means a ruined engine. So ya just have to ask yourself "do ya feel lucky punk?" Well do ya? I gotta go watch some old Clint Eastwood movies now.

Re: Coolant leak...not the expansion bottle

It's usually just the o-ring that leaks, once you move the throttle linkages out of the way, there is a snap ring that holds the wax pellet in place, remove the snap ring, pull out the mechanism, and replace the o-ring. (I usually clean up the inside of the chamber with some fine emery to make sure ...

Re: AC charge weight

Run your vacuum, then as filling, you will see bubbles, or a "milky" look. As you slowly fill it, the glass will get darker and darker(less bubbles) when the bubbles are gone, your full. Easy peasy. I don't know why they had to complicate things with charge weights. In the good old days, w...

Re: AC charge weight

There is a sight glass on the receiver dryer that you can use to gauge how much refrigerant you need.
