If you post something that you claim to be true, be prepared to prompty post referece to facts. Otherwise it is hearsay or just an opinion and your comment should be prefaced as such. Also, just because something has been repeated over and over, doesn't mean it is fact (ad nauseum). To much misinfo...

Rating means a tire meets standards. why would a company pay more for testing and certification if they dont need to....

Re: DOT Tire Testing
I don't know what you are looking for. Please ignore all of my previous threads and posts in this entire forum over the past few years. Call ICBC or CVSE. I'm offended and done with this discussion. LOL. I should be the one who's offended... but I'm not. If you make a claim, you should be able to p...

Re: Buying from Auction, or off the lot in Vancouver?
Those "3 or 4 letters" have tremendous value. It is not just something manufactures are arbitrarily allowed to STAMP ON their tires. once again you are failing to understand that Japan also has safety standards for tires. Standards I would trust just as much, if not more so, than the famo...

Re: DOT Tire Testing
More great info I just found online. The DOT Number: contains very important information about your tire that most people do not know is there. However, the DOT number is often found on the axle side of your tires, meaning you have to crawl under your vehicle or put the vehicle on a lift to read it....

DOT Tire Testing
DOT is not just 3 letters manufactures arbitrarily stamp on the side-wall of new tires. Check this 65 page document from the NHTSA about testing and info required to obtain DOT certification on tires..... http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/staticfiles/DOT/NHTSA/Vehicle%20Safety/Test%20Procedures/Associated%2...
