Re: Light issues

I had the exact same issue. I took the combination switch apart, it was full of crud, that was the issue. I used the the step by step on here to fix it, i think it was Falco's? My combination switch felt a bit "crunchy" before i fixed it too. Take it apart, clean it, it will work....

Re: Lighting issues, no tail lights!!!

My van had the same issue. All of a sudden, tail lights and dash lights went out, but head lights still came on. I could, however, get my tail lights and dash light on with my fog light switch, but was blinding folks with them. In the interim, i unplugged the fogs, and was going to investigate the d...

Re: Ontario wannabe Delica owner - buy in BC and drive East?

I got mine in Alberta, flew out and got it no problem. Alberta has a 7 day temp plate for like 30 bucks. Plenty of time to drive east!

Any opinion on (non-JDM) Montero?

My Lady is looking at (at my nudging) a 2006 Montero. The thing is loaded and looks great, but I don't know much about them other that what I read online. Looks like a rugged SUV, more truck than car, but has lots of bells and whistles. We were originally looking for a newer 2006-ish 4Runner, but th...

Re: Another Wheel Question (for Delicat???)

Here are a few pics of the new wheels. Again, they are tacoma 15x7 rims, probly off a 2001-2004, I am guessing.

Re: Another Wheel Question (for Delicat???)

Well, they fit! Local tire shop got them on no problem. They said the fronts went on a bit hard but a wire brush and some grease fixed that. Also found that the van was out of alignment pretty bad, even though i didn't notice any pulling to one side. So in the end it was $175 bucks...doh! So much fo...

Re: Another Wheel Question (for Delicat???)

Thanks Delicat. Not sure where you went but i am glad you are back. I have read and learned a lot from many of your posts! As far as i can tell, these Toyota rims have an additional half inch backspace than my current rims. I guess that means that the rim will be a half inch wider on each side. Sinc...

Re: Another Wheel Question (for Delicat???)

By the way, that pic is of the first "official" eastern Deli-meet. We drove from Fredericton to Campobello island, through Maine, for a some lobster and a kayak to look for whales.

Re: Another Wheel Question (for Delicat???)

Thanks Jfarsang! I did get the lug nuts with the wheels, and i have a tacoma already so i know exactly what lug nuts you are talking about. Got a sweet deal on those rims... Any issues with the 30 x 9.5R15 tires on the 7 inch rim? Right now the tires are on 6 inch (wide) rims. Not sure if i will pai...

Re: alternators. new, used or rebuilt?

FWIW, i found one on eBay.uk for $150 plus $40 shipping a couple weeks ago. I can have stuff shipped to New Brunswick from England way cheaper than the west coast...i guess it is a little closer.... From what i have read, our alternators have the same guts as most, and are easily rebuilt (windings, ...

Another Wheel Question (for Delicat???)

I hope I am not one of those guys that asks obvious questions, but I can seem to find what I am looking for. I recently acquired some sweet Toyota Tacoma 15x7 rims and was wondering a few things. The rims appear to be the same as what Delicat put on his van, and painted black. I even have the same t...

Re: Anyone drill out their alternator mount?

Got'er all back together last night and she runs like a top. No belt squeal, alternator shake or shimy, and I really can't believe how quiet the van is. I had no idea how much noise the alternator was actually making! Thanks to all for your posts. I will get some photos up here to show you how it we...

Re: Squeal from Motor

I just got my deli back together last night (er, well this morning) and i believe the power steering fluid reservoir is inside the hatch under the drivers seat (the one with the wingnut, not the entire panel). I had the same symptoms as you, and it was my alternator that was not lined up and loose. ...

Re: Anyone drill out their alternator mount?

Well, i got it back in and it lines up pretty good! I ended up having to wing it with the right angle drill and an attachment for tight spaces. It was kind of a frankenstein set up, but seemed to work OK. I got it mostly back together now and fired it up and there is no wobble and, while the belts a...
