Delica Farewell
After 13 years of ownership, we've said goodbye to our '91 L300 (Shawn Van Ramen). Lots of fun and great memories. We let go of it as we have moved and couldn't take it with us. Yes, it came from Japan, but it is not worth taking it back there. And yes, we've moved to Japan. We have replaced it thou...

Can anyone check this auto trader link and tell me if these seems like a smart purchase? I’m sorry I’m new here
Most of the stuff listed is standard with a Deli. Good to see it has had the timing belts done (normal schedule I believe is at 120,000km) It looks clean (Rust) But I guess Tennessee doesn't see as much rain as Vancouver. Other things to consider; Brakes, Ball Joints, & suspension. I am sure oth...

Air Filter Replacement Part Number
Since, like most Deli owners, I knew I would have mine for a very long time I opted for a K&N E4810 Air filter. OK It was over $200, but when you are replacing them all the time it makes more sense. Also better performance when I opened up the exhaust. I also get my oil filters from Les Hall in ...

Any interesting nuggets found in your Delica
The one yen coin is a good luck thing. So says my Japanese wife. I left it there as it "kinda" helps. As in a recent blown oil line but thankfully no engine damage.

What did you own before your Delica?
I went 23 years without a car/van/truck. I'm assuming motorcycles don't really count although I am on bike #17 in 44 years of riding. So I guess the real answer is that I had a '67 International Scout which I sold in '87. I then bought my '91 L300 in 2010. NOTE: The attached image is there for refer...

L400 key won't turn in the ignition
wiggle and jiggle the key while sticking your tongue out and down towards the left - Seriously, that works for me when my bike ignition starts to wear out.

4WD Questions
According to my manual ('91 L300) Put the tranny in Neutral or Park - Shove the shorty stick into the desired 4WD setting and off you go. I do get the obligatory clunk every now and then. As for getting out - same thing - N or P then back up a few feet. You'll see your 4Wd indicator light turn off a...

Hello from st.john's Newfoundland
Wood inside makes it nice.
A good set of tires.
Coffee & Beer holders.
and a mascot of some kind.
I also have a converter so the Christmas lights will be added soon.
and don't forget the MitsuMaple decal

L300 written off
Sad to hear but glad you're on the heal.
I've had my '91 hit twice in the past 5 years - both the left door for some reason. Every time I wonder if it'll get fixed or written off.
Take care and keep practicing the MitsuMaple wave - Even from an L400.

1993 L300 Pre-Purchase Inspection HELP
As an employee in the motorcycle biz that use to sell used bikes: Ask if there is any service history. I believe all the belts should be replaced at 120,000km. If you're inclined to crawl underneath, look at shocks for wear (leakage), on my L300 the rubber mounts at the back of the tranny were getti...
