Re: Need help, wife stranded: Can you diagnose a problem ...
Turns out it was the clutch itself. Master/slave is OK. Don't totally understand the situation, but at least I know the cylinders didn't go before their time.

:) ... anything I say here will get me into trouble if my wife stumbles on it. I got towed to CVI today. Looks like there's a fluid leak, and the master/slave cylinders need to be replaced. It's weird, because we had those very things replaced before our trip this winter. Haven't done 20k since. Can...

Re: Need help, wife stranded: Can you diagnose a problem ...
I'll check the reservoir. There was no warning sounds whatsoever (before this happened). We did have some issues with the transfer case this winter - it locked in 4L - and since the repair (manually moving it to 2H), we've not used 4x4 at all. But whatever locked the van in 4L was never technically ...

5 spd L300. 92. Yep.
I'll keep that in mind - we've got two markets this weekend, so hopefully it can be fixed before Friday :).

Hi, Van died on my wife's way home from work. Still sketchy on details, but trying to decide if I should just get it towed to Vancouver (we're in Keremeos). According to my wife, "something" happened at highway speeds, she managed to get it into neutral (I'm guessing she heard grinding), t...

Re: No good deed ...
Just to be sure, you are putting the transmission in neutral before you try to move the transfer case lever? (park is not good enough, the transfer case selector will not move at all in or out of 4L if the transmission is in any gear other than neutral) manual tranny, if it matters yes, won't switc...

Hi, writing from Baja. Put van in 4L trying to get a guy out of sand and after helping I can't get it out back to 4L or 2H. I can put it in neutral, but that's it. Won't go over. A mechanic down here traced everything to the transfer case, and it looked fine. I'd appreciate any ideas for put to put ...

RJD Services: Email contact
Hello,
I'm looking for an email contact for Richard of RJD services. We're both down here in the Baja and he offered to help if I had any problems. Next day, van gets stuck in 4L. Please reply if you know his email.
Thanks,
-- Joel

Need a fuel filter and installation help today!
Hello, My husband is driving our Delica to Vancouver to sell at the Gastown farmer's market, and is barely going to make it because our fuel filter needs changing! Since it is Sunday, and he needs to get home today after market, we are appealing to other Delica drivers for help. We need someone with...

Re: Feeling weird vibrations, sounds: Advice please?
Well, I'll swallow my pride here. The culprit ended up being loose lug nuts on a rear wheel. So loose in fact that the wheel fell off. Thankfully I pulled onto a side road at that point (noticed something *very* weird) and wasn't going fast. Scary though, had both kids in. Strangely, I had just fini...
