I'm likely moving to Vancouver in the next month or two so I will sadly no longer be servicing the Island.
However, I will make the odd trip back so I can always hit things on the infrequent.

Re: Detailing Mid island?
I can definitely take a look for you. If you want to send me some pics I can see if it's viable or not, depends on the severity of the rust of course. email is chewy123@shaw.ca
Hope the purchase goes well,
Kelly.

Re: I want a Delica. But could I stand it?
why not get a pajero 2.8, have the usual maintenance done upon arrival/purchase. Then if it breaks, just tell hoss c. mechanic that it's a montero, the 4m40 is pretty bulletproof as long as the cooling system is in good shape, so he shouldn't have to mess with it.

Re: VW, Suzuki or a Subaru Bus
I don't yet, but I figure it's about time now that the weather is warming I can get back to work on it. I'm at work at the moment and they block photobucket, I'll post a few progress pics when I get home. 8-) how it arrived http://i20.photobucket.com/albums/b230/kbs13/Every/Every_Van_30.jpg pulled t...

Re: VW, Suzuki or a Subaru Bus
The superchargers tend to go on them though, and that can be a pain. The one in the picture at the top is a Suzuki Every/Carry Van. You can get all of em in standard, the autos, like the l300, have a bigger final drive so highway driving is "ok". I have one that I'm currently restoring and...

Re: Detailing Mid island?
Spring is here and things are going strong.I do clean cars, and on a basic level I do "clean paint" with a polish, but if you haven't seen what a proper machine polish can do, look up some before and afters. I'll post a couple, but I lack an SLR at the moment, so it's hard to catch all the...

I have however done quite a few for folks here and it's as satisfying doing the work as it is seeing people's reactions to the work.

Re: CADA Seeking federal ban on RHD imports in Canada!
If you aren't informed on this, please check out the FAQ section at IVOAC. I like how far we've come though. It used to be that one of these Hearst inspired pieces of literary tripe would get the average Joe riled and ready for a RHD witch hunt. But now it seems that even though most of the informed...

Re: Expensive Parts at Japanoid
I've dealt with them on a few occasions where getting a part in a timely fashion was more important than the price. Rich hit the nail on the head. The parts guy I dealt with was easy to talk to, and honest, but getting to talk to him took nearly a month of hammering their phone lines and a heavy pep...

Haha, thanks Gregg, I'm trying to keep things simple.. well, you cats can take it or leave it. It works on every forum I've ever been on that has a smaller group like this. Jaz's point is valid, yet moot in some ways. It's usually first come first serve, but many will honor you as the first contact ...

Re: On the block! stuff found on craigslist and other places!
Yeah, I see where you're going with it and I like it. The issue definitely lies in the Silk Road name. Not only is there silk road autos but also a number of japanese parts manufactureres and distributors called silk road in one fashion or another. Oddly enough, and not for the sake that I'd said it...

On the block! stuff found on craigslist and other places!
This thread will likely get moved but I vote for it to be seen here as it is good to have it highly visible. The idea is to post up links with short descriptions of stuff for delis you've found rummaging through the interwebs. Helps everybody save money and when that happens, we're all happy. so fir...
