Two years after saying goodbye to our l300, we've bought an l400. Happy to be back in a deli! And happy to see all's well on my favourite site.

My balancing belt or tensioner failed last week. The last replacement was about 59000km ago. I wish I had it checked more frequently. The engine is now very broken.

I've spent more than a few hours in the drivers seat and yes it seams to suck. Up til now, I thought the high seat and uprightness of the whole setup (bent knees, bent hips not to mention off center steering wheel and wrong height elbow rests) was the problem. But now I'm 36hrs into this summer trip...

We ended up stopping in Brooks at a quick lube place and they were very helpful.

I made a 1L test batch a year ago. It seemed to work, but I'm not ready to make the investment.

I had sqealing at and above 2000rpm. Turned out to be the bearing in my turbo. The turbo was replaced and since...no more squealing.
