Re: She's Here!
I would be careful assuming as well.
Lots of times the balance belt is not done and it breaks and takes out the timing belt and motor or they re-use the old tensioners...
Parts are cheep and it is pretty easy to do yourself....also the crank pulley is another known weakness....
cheers

Re: Purchasing advice?
Not sure why you want full exhaust again? Mine was a straight pipe side exhaust when I bought it.... too loud (loud is ok but I prefer a big block, big cam, V8 on open headers) I just added a high flow muffler and kept the side exhaust... I added a flex pipe just below the turbo to take some shaking...

you sure it is blowby? small chance of blowing compression to oil passage in the head gasket.... Maybe do a leak-down test?
I would feel better doing an ebay rebuild kit over a used motor given the prices
but no experience with the kits

But those are not delicas.... If going non delica... go Domestic since no one wants them... I current have a 1997 Ford Exploder....wait... not the troublesome 4.0L with weak transmissions and head gasket (OHV) or bad cam chains (OHC)... Nope the fully loaded full time AWD with the F150 transmission ...

black grant leather wheel was around $135.00 dollars. Online you should be able to find for cheaper, even in wood.
I would just buy the same type as what your adapter takes.
Gut to wheel clearance can be an issue...
I like a wheel big enough that I can steer off road with the power steering out...

Re: Corrosion in the Main Cylinder
rust can be cleaned sure.... but it will have micro pitting in the wall unless by clean it is over bored with larger pistons... but if it overheated you can crack piston rings. If I had a motor that far apart I would pull the pistons and do it properly. That said what shape is the injector system in...

buy the style and size steering wheel from Grant / Momo and adapter kit (you have the kit already just need a larger diameter wheel) and unbolt one wheel and bolt in the other. I swap out the little 12" Grant my came with to a 15" grant... took 3 minutes in the parking lot of the auto part...

You could purchase a whole delica with a blown motor for 3X the windshield cost.
then ship out to you... That would buy lots of spares... just an idea.

Nice Delica, looks pretty fit, as does your co-pilot.
Do you have any modification plans for the Delica and do you have a name for her?

Re: Corrosion in the Main Cylinder
The cylinder does not look good.
You are going to need to pull apart the bottom end....
It looks like full rebuild or used motor time.
Options:
1) new motor
2) rebuild motor
3) swap in a gas motor
4) scrap
