Installed my costom bullbar

Post by MrDuncon »

Few years ago i bought two original Mitsu Fogglights, and beacause they are bigger than i expected i had to create something to mount them.
And because i didnt have bars i designed one. At first i cut the shape from wood, than made a mechanical drawing, than digitalize it, planned in 3D.

After the drawings, the two shapes where plasma cutted. After we got everything we just assembled the bullbar.
The final product where sand spreaded and sintered to black.

The two shapes are 10mm thick. If i have free time i will install the fogglights as well.

Cheers!

That looks awesome, I was thinking of making a narrow bull bar set up but was really wondering how it would look. You convinced me to build a set like like.

PS super clean looking Delica

As always MrDuncon, you have a keen sense for clean lines and impeccable style.

One question is about your comment:
MrDuncon wrote:......After we got everything we just assembled the bullbar.

Could you explain this, please? I'm not familiar with "sand spreading" or "sintering".

Cheers,
Falco.

Thanks so much!

UUUUUUm, i mean sand blasting witch treatment cleans the metals surfaces hundred percently,
then powder coating the surface instead of painting.

Sorry, maybe i choosen the wrong expressions. 8-)

Thanks, MrDuncon, I figured it was something like that but then I thought, wait... what if it's something I haven't heard before.... I sand blasted and powder coated my ladder but typically I just paint as with wear and tear I'll be painting again.

Hi MrDuncon,

Beautiful work. I really like how you started with sketches, and worked it until you got the shape that felt right.
Fine artistic work. Any chance you can post the .DXF files?

Cheers,

Of course! Files of the main shape, in different versions: (the rest of the parts are some metal- tube and plate bits)

Don't forget, i have an LHD version of L300 here in Europe, with different front bumper.
It has got curly arches...

Anyway, I hope you can use or edit these files.
