Homemade lift kit & suspension overhaul.

Lifted my L400 - 2" spacers in the rear and 1" spacers and torsion bar adjustment in the front. Decided that while I was at it I would replace all ball joints, tie rods, and stabilizer bar links.

I made the spacers myself, I have a lathe and mill in my garage.

Lordco was able to order in the Procomp shocks, and of course they had all the metric fasteners I needed. The remaining parts I ordered online. We'll see about the quality of the parts.

I installed the lift myself, as well as all the new suspension parts. Im fairly new to all this, and I dont have access to a hoist so it took me a full two days to get everything done. Lots of stubborn bolts. Lots of shuffling around of the jack stands. The old stabilizer links all needed to be cut off with a grinder.

After it was all done I brought it to Kal Tire for 31 size Wild Country tires and an alignment.

Rides nicer, everything is tight and responsive. The wider tires and with everything being stiffened up it actually feels more stable in curves. I also got rid of the knocking coming from the rear right wheel well. Must have been the stabilizer link, it was pretty sloppy.

Im not a seasoned mechanic (nor machinist) and I was able to do this myself. Just be ready to have a good few days to get it done. Hoist your car and place your jack stands carefully, being crushed by your own car would be embarrassing.

Do you have the part numbers for the shocks? Are they the same lenght as the standard ones?

Do you have any issue with your lift kit since is installed??
Can it fit on a Chamonix 1998?
If yes, do you have mesurement of your lift, I would like to make one.. ;)

I got new hd springs from the island. It's pretty much a 1-2" lift alone. Best thing I've done to my beast

Which 1" spacer is that? Did you install longer shocks? Did you have to change track or sway bar? Longer links? Spacer for proportions get valve?

Details please, pics if possible. Part numbers even better!
