L400 Rear Hatch Lift
Just added 10mm thick blocks to the top mounting brackets and that gave a me 52mm lift to the tailgate
Also used longer screws.
Could probably go as much 14mm but that was the material i had.

For to avoid head bonking and general hair mussing when hanging out under the tailgate

Re: L400 Rear Hatch Lift
What sort of blocks are these, and where can I obtain some?

I used some UHMW plastic pieces , nylon or dense wood would work as well, maybe aluminum.

Re: L400 Rear Hatch Lift
I was thinking if doing something similar, googled it and low and behold someone on here has done it! I want the extra clearance as I'm hopefully going to start my camper build on my next days off, and my kitchen will be a pull out drawer under the hatch, and screened in with an old outdoor gazebo I'm going to cut to shape and Velcro in. The bugs are beyond bad in Saskatchewan.

Re: L400 Rear Hatch Lift
Clear cutting board pieces work well. I did that on my last L400.

Re: L400 Rear Hatch Lift
I had been meaning to do this for ages. Finally spent $8 on eBay and just ordered this:

Tried to take the struts off, snapped a bolt instantly. Damn.
