Well... I put this post together, clicked on preview and discovered that I'd timed out and consequently logged out. So I went back a page and found myself on the log in page. A time/space loop. Bother, I should have copied. So here I am again, take two:

I do a fair amount of work on my wagon and as I can't always afford to go to a garage and I have a secret connexion:

There is a lot of useful knowledge on YouTube, to be sure but there is one channel that I really like ~ Scotty Kilmer Channel.

He works on American cars but when you correlate with a Delica manual you can pretty much put it together. There is a lot of information on YouTube but I find Scotty the kind of guy I'd enjoy having a beer with. He's like the backyard DIY guy's hero. Currently I have a minor axle seal leak in my rear axle that has spilled 80/90 oil all over the backing plate. To fix this problem would normally require a shop press, which at Princess Auto starts at around $500.00. Scotty has a better idea ~ a big pipe and a lump hammer.



This guy rocks. I thought I'd share.

Great old school/backyard mechanic tips.

This is the stuff my dad and his mechanic pals taught me when I was a kid......certainly appreciate these tips now. I like his comments about the engineering process that created the final design and the problems it creates with repair times.
