since there does not seem to be any relays in your wiring harness, i assume the solenoid was used as a relay for the glow plug and/or the oil filter heater. the wiring colors seem to indicate that. that can be replaced with an automotive relay or two from the autowreckers for cheap.

i got one relay for min, for the glow plug. it is my opinion that the filter heater might as well just be on when the key is on. it starts to heat the filter immediately, and maintains a preheat before the meat exchanger

you can use a solenoid as a relay. its a bit overkill but serves the same function. the concept is to use a low current from a switch to actuate an isolated contact that will allow high current to flow to whatever you are turning on. so they both do the same job, just one is built more heavy duty than the other.

if you plan to use the marine fuel can for INSIDE your van, i have an offer for you, re-sell the fuel can , find a spare fuel tank for the bottom of your van and I will GIVE you 200L of FREE wvo as a prize, NO JOKE. ive seen to many people who put their fuel/ wvo inside the van, and over time as it adamizes ( terrible speller , but I have a brain injury) it will leave a coating of old oil on the fabric inside your van and you will learn to hate your van as it starts to stink like rancid oil. I have thousands of litters of oil, and if you would like 200 , hell even 300 L of oil I will give it to you if you just put your fuel under the van in some fashion.

Definitely take him up on that offer. I have quite a few different WVO vehicles with the tanks inside and all were horrible. Two were Delica on cross county road trips and the interior was a very unpleasant place. If you have a constant who supply consider a small container for diesel only located somewhere. Maybe even a small jerry can, as you'll be surprised how little diesel u will use as long as you have a good who supply. Then for long trips, away from your supply, there is no problem putting diesel into the big tanks.

That's quite the offer!
The whole project has been put in hold for a bit. Only because I saved a bunch of money ordering the pump and relays from Japan off of eBay. Relays, a buck each with free shipping. Pump was 3 bucks with 2 for shipping. Both were exactly the same products that lordco offers for WAY less money. But I had to wait almost a month for them to get here.
But it's all arrived, and I'm ready to move forward.
I also picked up a spool of fresh wire, and those clip thing from princess auto for a song.
I had planned on mounting the tank underneath the van, where the spare tire was. Don't know how yet... Ratchet straps? I need to figure out how I'll fill it. I might extend the filler and vent up to the side of the van, and get ont of those vent plates from capital iron that says waste. I think they are for boats.
I ordered five relays... I don't think I'll need that many. So the others are up for grabs if anyone needs or wants them.
Where are you that you have so much oil? I'm near Duncan, and the bio diesel coop has a monopoly on most of the restaurants! I've found myself driving in courtenay recently, and picked some up there... Just been mixing 50/50 in my stock tank while it's summertime. Throwing in some injector cleaner for good measure.
If you (or anyone) has a spare afternoon, and wants to help me out a bit... I'll buy you a case of beer and make you dinner? I only kind of know what I'm doing, and could certainly use the reassurance of someone whose done this before.
And I'll totally take any surpluses oil you may have! Any time!

I live in Victoria, there are a few co-ops here also, but I also have a few restraints that are very loyal to me, I don't pay anything for the oil, and I generally have to much oil to use, if you figure out a way to use an under vehicle tank. you can have a bunch of oil, if you have duel tanks on your delica, why not use one for oil, one for diesel....shame you don't have a pick up truck i have a 250L pick up truck tank im going to be getting rid of soon.

if you want advice. I have my $0.02 worth, if you want oil from a restraunt, support that restraunt. EAT THERE . get to know them, be willing to get the oil in January when its pissing rain ,cold and crappy
why should a restraunt give you their oil if you dont in return support them? and dont be the guy who wants it in the summer, but bones the owner in the winter by not coming to get the oil. Dont make a mess. AT ALL.
I gave away close to 1000L last year, floor was covered in cubes. no room to move, if you can become a trust worthy person who will always take the oil, the restraunt owner will tell their friends. Soon you will be not knowing what to do with all your oil like me.

Update!
All wired up and ready to install. I will hose everything up once it's all found it's place.
One problem... there's a left over brown wire. i assume it goes to the second valve, as there is no wire leading to it. on the wonderfull diagram, there is no wire indicated coming out of the box, and nothing going to the valve. logic persists i run it. but thought i should double check....

Visited my favorite local fry shacks, and talked to the owners, they are more than willing to let me come get their oil. it's not much right now, but it'll add up in time i'm sure you are right! still running about a third veg in my stock tank. i figure it's still warm enough to get away with this for a little while.

I'd love to come see your setup enviro imports, there are a few things i would like to give you some money for.

Also, i now am sure i have two extra (new) relays, that inline pump and that nasty solenoid. if no one wants them they are going in the trash.

I pulled off the front skid plate.
I think I identified the coolant lines running to the front heater.
I'm about to cut into them to tee in stuff.
There is allot of room above that lightweight skidplate... i could probably fit most of the components under there?
I'm posting a picture of where i'm tee-ing in... does this seem right to everyone?

perhaps if you were to cut them at the ends, where if you have them wrong, your only out an inch of hose... not starting in the middle...

that's a good tip, starting at the ends... perhaps even just un clamping them till it gets figured out, then making splices once i'm sure i got it right...
took a trip into duncan to get the right sized tee's, did some plumbing, and started her up, leaks like crazy! so back to the store tomorrow to get some teflon tape, and try again. but it's dark now, too dark for pictures.
I expected green fluid to spill out of those hoses, but it was kinda piss yellow. sure heats up though! i'll get some green coolant tomorrow, and top it up. that way i can make sure that they are, infact coolant hoses i tapped into!

i hope you all find my stumbling through this at least a little entertaining, and not aggravating. i have a week or two off right now, so i'll be working on this every day until it's done.

hello, piss yellow is the water from japan with probably a trace of old coolant, not to be confused with the bright yellow slick long life coolant...if you have coolant has not been flushed and seems like just water. you need to run some vinager in with your coolant , a couple liters, in your coolant to break down some of the scaling thats going to be clogging your rad, you will need to flush this a couple times before putting in ALUMINUM SAFE coolant. the nastyness that will flow out will choke a strainer if you were to run it through a strainer/ coffee filter , even refill, your whole system, burp it, run for a day or two, flush again, keep doing it using WATER, until you get the evil out, keep in mind you may even want to drain it from your rear AC unit, just the coolant... not the gas... this is often overlooked and then you still have evil in the system to steal your heat. or your coldness, and don't forget this also has to pull the HEAT into the coolant to cool your engine. so its really important that you get it all cleaned out.
