New Conversion!

That was quite a chore. Took two guys two full days to get this system installed. Only thing left to do it get a skidplate for the new tank, mount the spare on the front bull bar and fill er up with veggie oil. Bought the system never used for $200.00, cost about $100 for all the extra materials and a hole saw capable of cutting sheet metal. Will make that back in about 6 weeks :-D

I used the same fill on mine. Looks good!

Caution on the tire up front. I mounted a reciever hitch onto the front of my suburban years ago and with the 5 bikes I had hanging off of it there was enough wind damning that the rad fan was constantly engaged on the highway. I would think a full size spare on our little rad openings would have a similar effect. I'll mounting mine on the back as I don't want to mess with overheating issues.

I know what you are saying, but the way the tire is up so high, it's a long way from the air intake, which is down below. I have a spare tire mount from a VW breadloaf bus, which should centre the wheel right where the fogs are now. The fogs I can install below the bullbar (if I keep them). I also am considering mounting it on the driver's side of the van, at the back. That would be very unique, although old-school 4X4s sometimes had them there.

In the back is my plan. Emphasis on PLAN, it has been 2 yrs. now. When I had the hitch made up I had three recievers put on the back so I would have the mounts ready for various options. Some others on the forum have done the same. At this point I'm hauling it up the rear ladder and tossing it into the basket.

The roof is an obvious spot, but with my rooftop tent up there, that's a non-starter.
