I hope this doesn't affect anyone here waiting for a vehicle, and if it does, I sure hope they have insurance...

looks like it's a roll-on roll-off car carrier, the type used most commonly by importers of foreign vehicles, apparently carrying 5000 vehicles from Japan to Canada... :(

(on the bright side, it sounds like all the crew are ok!)

Having lived in Richmond for some time in the past I am familiar with these carriers - they usually only carry new cars. Most JDM imports come on container ships or tied down to ship decks.
