1993 Mitsubishi Delica Super Exceed L300 (StarWagon)
Purchased from Mardy (Amazing Auto Imports) in September of 2008 w/ 158, 000kms.

I guess it's about time I start a thread to keep all my projects/modifications in one area.

Two winters ago I swapped out my auto hubs for some manual hubs. I don't drive my delica during the winter months here in Ontario so I've only used them once, but they worked great!

Today I finally installed the Ford Taurus cup holder that I purchased off ebay quite some time ago ( http://www.delica.ca/forum/l300-cup-holder-11839.html ).
I removed the small "pocket" that was under the stereo.

I had to do some trimming to the cupholder and there were also two small bolts that were holding the "pocket" from moving side to side. Not sure how Mardy's guys managed to get those bolts in there but I had no idea how to get them out...so I also used the dremel for that too. Overall it was pretty straight forward.
Don't judge my van's apearance on these pictures :-D ... they really show the dust from the cutting.

While camping in the hot/humid/mosquito buzzing part of Canada we call Onterrible, we tried to come up with a solution to be a little cooler while sleeping at night. We had the idea for a net that would surround us and then we found this... We didn't buy ours at Canadian Tire, but they do carry the exact same one.

The little hooks in the corners and on the sides (6 in total) slide perfectly in place and don't fall out.

fexlboi suggested using magnets to hold the mosquito net up higher so that it doesn't sag. I think I will finally try that this summer.

Nice job, the net is a nice touch. I look forward to the additional posts. A very tidy job, indeed.

Yesterday I did the seafoam IP purge. The sound of the engine before and after seems exactly the same, but I had to go out to the hardware store to pick up a few things and boy was it smooth!! Going to go for a drive today and see how it feels. I don't expect to see a gain in power but I'm satisfied with the smoothness for sure.

Here's my setup (thanks to profister and jfarsang for previous "how to's" - http://www.delica.ca/forum/diesel-syste ... -5082.html )

Great post and pictures. Thanks for sharing.

Also really appreciate the effort on the seafoam video. I am going to do one in the summer and your video will be a great reference.

Cheers,

Went out to Craig's (Bonsai Rides) workspace today to change the oil and transmission fluid and filter.
Used Seafoam in the crankcase before I left to go out. The oil change was routine.

However, this was my first attempt at changing the transmission filter and fluid. In the end it wasn't so bad, but there was a minor setback. When I removed the transmission filter (screen) the gasket was stuck on the transmission so I went to peel it off and it came off in about 30 pieces, but that wasn't the worst part. Where the bolts hold the filter on, the gasket was REALLY stuck. I had to use a razor blade for about 30 minutes to get all of the gasket off. Good learning experience I guess :?

Today I also removed the front side steps. I just never really liked the look of them. I know they are supposed to help protect, but after looking from all different angles, I don't think they would help much. I don't usually go offroad anyway so I'm not too worried.
