Restoration of my delica

Post by tiitus »

I but here some story, when I try to fix my car.

First, there was a some engine warm up problem, so I change
thermostat, piece of cake.

Also alternator belt was little over used. :-D

My back is now painful, so tomorrow I try on a new belt.

Wow. That's quite the alternator belt... Have you checked the timing belt lately? If your alternator belt breaks then you are without electrical charge. If your timing belt breaks then you are without engine.

I can ensure you, that will be a calming feeling when you will get over these things.
When I changed the timing belt i also replaced the water pump, and all of the belts.

They come together ;)
Good luck!

Absolutely. Before I first purchased my Starwagon I paid $200 and got her checked out. As she had been sitting for a time in Yokohama, her oil seals had dried out some and even though the timing belt had recently been changed it was all for naught because there was oil all over it. Hot oil compromises the integrity of the timing belt and consequently the timing belt had to be done again (along with the oil seals).

By the way, that is an excellent photo essay you posted, Tiitus.

You guess what happens now?

Image

Yes! Finally I change the belts and all seals.
Two days a go, alternators tighten bolt severed and I thought why not
do all things at once. :-)

Maybe I take a front of car little bit higher and make leafsprings better too.
But we see what is the results. :?
