A post of mine was edited by someone and the edit button is removed. To not clutter up that thread, here is the link : http://www.delica.ca/forum/big-ol-post- ... 55-45.html
From what I understand, only an administrator or moderator is able to do this but I have no feedback or reason why it was edited and why the edit button has been removed.
Feedback on why this is happening would be appreciated Mark/Paul and if a warning was issued (again no reason why) ?

Re: Admin Site error - Edit buttons missing
If this thread was edited by a moderator, the moderator should PM the original person posting with an explanation of why at the time of the editing:
1) I would assume the moderator would edit the post because there is a problem with the post. The original poster should be informed so they can understand why and maybe learn...
2) Editing a post without explanation teaches nothing.
3) Editing without explanation and reason to me looks like an abuse of power.
4) how hard is this: "hey Poster, I had to remove your statement about X as it was unacceptable. I modified you post to say Y (with brackets in text saying it was moderated) Here is a link. Please try to be more B in the future. No warning is given or a warning was given. signed moderator P"
5) I personally think if the moderator cannot do #4: 1) I do not think they should be moderators.

Re: Admin Site error - Edit buttons missing
Moderators any comments on protocol l around editing posts?
should we assume that no response means that there is no interest in having transparency on how the site is administrated/moderated?
I belong to a few forums and this is the only forum that does not address issues and just ignores questions.
Please respond? What happened with this post so we can all learn? What happens if a post is edited, does the poster get PMd?
I am not sure how ignoring questions on how the site is moderated meets rule 1.1.1?
In all seriousness I am asking the the moderators and administration sets or post so clear rules around editing and moderating posts and being a little more transparent.
This way we can all learn...also it will give insight into how much work you people do for this forum.
thanks
