Spontaneous logouts?

Post by marsgal42 »

I just lost a posting I was composing because the board software decided to log me out in mid-compose. This isn't the first time this has happened. Is there some setting I can change?

that's weird... I have been "logged in" for at least a year straight.... at least I haven't seen a login prompt in all of that time, nor have I ever been "logged out" while doing anything.

For posts that take awhile, or emails, I copy what I'm writing once in a while just for that reason. It is so discouraging when you spend a lot of time writing something and having it disappear into thin air.

Do you check the "keep me logged in" box when you log in?

Yup. Doesn't make any difference. Doesn't do anything.

Safari 4.0.4 on OS X 10.5.8, BTW. All current and up to date.

Hi Laura, I was having same problem 3 ish months ago, and always have had the problem (2 years ish) Usually using my home pc XP with Firefox, all settings good, no conflicting scheduled tasks on my pc (I was an internet techie support so I know the little tricks). Would sometimes happen at work XP with Firefox. Suddenly it fixed itself a few months ago, I emailed Mark to ask if changes and to warn that might get bigger traffic volumes on server if everyone able to stay logged on longer , I think he had done small changes but nothing that we figured should impact, and he checked the logs but noticed no increase in traffic volumes. So far, it has been stable.

The only solution I found is that when I open the PM screen it opens in a new window and it is unstable (and often dont have drag bars on the side to move around the screen), so I then close that new window and click back to PM screen in my main delica window.

It would be nice to resolve the problem, or find the cause, as it must cause others grief.

Cheers, Christine.
