Hi everyone,
I've been watching this thread with great interest, hoping I'd be able to make it out. My work schedule seems to have sorted itself out, so pending confirmation that my folks can take care of my boy for a few days, it looks like I'll be able to attend! Woo-hoo! :D :D :D
Very excited to be able to meet everyone and see some other Delicas, as well as get away from the city for some much needed fresh air and relaxation.
I should be getting my new van a couple weeks before, so hopefully it'll be able to finish the work I want to do on it in time, it would be nice to make this trip it's 'maiden voyage'.
Bruce, sounds like you have a pretty full itinerary, but if you were able to make it to Calgary, you'd be most welcome to the couch/fridge/beer/etc. and I'd be happy to show you around Calgary and Banff.
I agree with Mitch, 2-way radios would be good to have, essential for the lead and tail vehicles of the convoy. I saw a list of convoy procedures on the Aussie site to ensure everyone is safe and nobody gets left behind. I'll see if we can borrow those.
This is going to be sooo fun!
Cheers,
Jon

I will hopefully have my CB installed by then, and it would be great if one other would have one as well.

Families are definitely welcome, the more the merrier.

My wife won't be able to come because of work, and I'd love to bring my son, but that's a long haul for a two year old without someone else to entertain him while I drive.

Adrock,

What kind of CB? Just wondering if you got a good idea of what you are getting... I will definately have one before then also. Just looking for info on them.

Not everybody has CB's, but if anyone has the small FRS (Family Radio Service) radios available in pairs just about anywhere for $59 plus bucks we could distribute them among vehicles. I have a pair I'll bring along with my radio with logging road channels.

Niek,

That sure would be a long snorkel in order to drive over here... supprised Bruce didn't think of that also. Its a shame we would love you to make it cross the ocean, but I guess there aren't to many fueling stations on the way!

A little winterizing, and you might still be able to make the Bering Strait ice-bridge between Kamchatka and Alaska! THAT would be one hell of a trip!
