The Christmas 4X4 Toy Run.

Post by FalcoColumbarius »

Just got a reminder e-mail from Lesley of the Sasquatch 4 Wheelers, here it is:
  • "Just to remind you.....Christmas is not too far away! We hope you will take part in the Christmas Toy Run again this year!

Last year we had over 86 vehicles and we hope to have at least this many this year. The Toy Run is on Sunday 4th December 2011 assembling at Guildford Mall parking lot at 9.30am and proceeding at 10.00am in parade format to Beer Creek Park where the donations are accepted and a Pancake Breakfast will be held.

    Last year..

Over 303 toys were donated to the Christmas Bureau
$407 was collected by the North Surrey Lions club from their Pancake Breakfast and was generously donated to the Christmas Bureau
338 non-perishable foods items were donated to the Food Bank
    $450 in cash was donated

The attached poster provides the detail and we are hoping you will assist us by circulating this information. Consider posting it on your work Intranet, on Face book, printing off a copy and posting it, telling your friends and family. We look forward to seeing you!

best wishes from the Sasquatch 4 Wheelers"

So, will we be doing the Toy Run this year? It would be a shame to let it go, since we have been winning contests an' all. Benevolence is always a good thing, especially when the economy is tanking...

How about it, folks? It's this Sunday.

It definitely was a last minute call for me but I ended up making it along with Falco. I'll need to work my kitchen pass ahead of time next year so I get to fully dress up my truck (I was pretty good at it in the past). I'm glad I went but I was a bit sad to see the overall numbers decreasing since last year. This is for a good cause and it would be great to have a big show from the Delica community. Next year we'll organize a Delica meet along with the toy run!!!

There were a few very cool vehicles, not sure how they'd do on the trails but very cool nonetheless!

Cheers,
Mr. D

What got me was everyone is copying my laconic antler with the red nose look!

I was quite surprised how few the overall turnout was. Still, we were there, and yes ~ co-ordinating a Delica meet into the day would be a good idea, it was a beautiful day to go for a drive.

You should have a patent on it. I saw that look back in the 70's for the first time. Canadian Tire and Walmart are selling that kit. One red nose and a pair of antlers for $20 or something or the sort.
