I just see the main land folk have a lot of events and I have not seen much activity on the island side of things. So is anyone interested in a meet and greet maybe a tailgate afair.

Just a thought

Post a place and time, and then people can make a decision to attend.

If you ask for what works best, you'll get answers all over the map. Choose something/sometime, announce it, and those who can make it will. Those who can't, won't.

Ok I think Bright Angel park on Koksilah rd is a good choice it has bathrooms a big field to play in and a river to swim in, and a big covered area/ cook spot. I was thinking of meeting at the first parking lot at 12:00. If you are coming from Victoria turn left on koksilah rd and then follow the signs to the park drive thru the gate and the first parking lot in on your right. If coming down island turn right on miller rd and then make a left on koksilah and follow signs for the park.
This is a bring your own BBQ/drink etc, just a good way to meet the faces behind the names

Don't really know where this is, in spite of your stellar directions. What town??

Not sure if we can make it, Brian might be working, but if we can do it and it's close enough to home, see ya there.

It's always tough for some reason to get people out for meets on the island. Don't ask why. We've planned day stuff, camping stuff, sometimes you hit it, sometimes you don't. We did a meet for Victoria, for convenience of all I said Mt. Tolmie park, 4 people showed up, 3 from western communities, 1 from up island. Should have had it in Langford and it would have been way closer. Did a camping trip a few years ago, had a great turnout, mostly from the mainland. Go figure!!

oh, it's too bad i just saw this, i live just across the highway from bright angel.
That would be a good spot for a meet up!
Perhaps organizing another one before this beautiful weather runs out? The forecast says it's to be nice for another week or two at least! Isn't it late september? what the h*ll?
