September 2010 Calgary Deli-Meat?

Post by jaggedfish »

Hi all!

I am thinking it's time for another Delica get-together! New member, CalgaryHHR, is curious about Delicas and would like to have a look over some of our rides for comparison and to get some insight. Also, Naterade is a new Delica owner who has expressed interest in meeting other Delicalikes.

It's been a few months since the last meet so whaddya say? The week after the long weekend? Location to be determined... wanted to get folks aware first so we can try to make it the biggest one yet.

I will email Erebus in case he is in town as he has a good mailing list of members to alert.
Hope we can all get together!

Cheers!
Ian

Ya, I'm up for it. I'll try to PM all the Calgary region members I know of and tell them about this thread. But it won't happen until Sunday.

Evenings or weekends will work best for me.

Sounds great folks.

I look forward to being able to see some of the Delica up close and learning about the ownership experience.

If, for some reason, any wants to check out my HHR (nothing really special) I'll have it there.

Okay, I've sent a message to everyone I know of. Now all we need is someone to decide where and when :-D

I'd like to see an HHR up close.

I'll probably be in....Septembers pretty open so far! End of the month is looking a little busy right now. Would like to meet all of the other incredibly smart, good looking, next level thinkers within the Calgary region!......

I agree. One possibility is west of Millarville on Hwy 549 we could picnic at Northfork or Mesa Butte, then north on the Fisher Creek road that leads to McLean Creek off road area. Then whoever wants to can go 4x4ing (we need a leader who knows the trails) while the rest cause a Deli-jam (kinda like a bear jam).

We should plan it enough ahead of time so people have a chance to find out, and arrange schedules.

Today my SO and I went for a drive. We ended up west of Turner Valley along the Sheep River all the way to Bluerock. The terrain is similar to that west of Millarville. It was rainy along the Sheep River:

but winter is arriving in the higher elevations:

YES, this was today.

Hey sounds great, I will be around in September the weekend of the 10/11/12 and 24/25/26. I'll be camping this long weekend, and will be out of town the weekend of 17/18/19. Hoping the DeliMeet will be one of the other weekends so I can join the party!

I mentioned it to my girlfriend and she is also interested in coming

Had the new Delica out for its first camping trip this past weekend and had a blast!!

Cheers :M

Hey guys, the idea of going to the Northfork area is pretty good. I wouldn't mind heading out there for a day (maybe even for a night of camping if the weather is okay.)

I've been meaning to do some camping with a friend but we haven't had time yet this summer.

I'll let you guys decide the day but the weekend of the 11th, 12th and 13th would be great.
