Well, my son did a number on my front windshield and now needs replacing.
I inquired with a shop sometime ago when I had a couple chips and seem to recall them saying the moulding would be destroyed in the process and would have to replaced. Seem to recall its not something the shop would have. Too long ago for me to remember the specifics of the conversation.
Is this the case? If so, is it something that can easily be ordered from a parts shop for a Montero?
Thanks.
Artie

Re: Front Windshield moulding
Maybe get a second opinion. I went to a Kirmac Collision(sp?) and the service manager said it would be no problem to replace, costing no more than the usual ICBC deductible. He was very eager and didn't mention having to replace any trim.
That being said, the trim sometimes gets loose or weathered, and might be a good idea to do it anyways. I know mine whistles time to time on the hwy.

Scrapyard is one good way to find trim replacements. Car-part.com and look for a montero equivilent.
But I would agree you need to get a different windshield repair consultation

Re: Front Windshield moulding
I had mine done and they said the same. They were just covering their ass in the event that it did become damaged. It didn't .. no problems. I used Kirmac on east 1st ave. They were great.
