It controls braking force to the rear tires depending on how much weight you're carrying (ride height). Very important in a loaded vehicle.

I believe you just need a new drop down bracket the same size as your lift, Im sure someone can ellaborate.

Only the LWB have it, not my prob..

Had to delay the shop work til today as I needed the truck over the weekend... just got a call back from the shop a few minutes ago after dropping it off on my way to work this morning.

Well... it turns out the shop that measured my torsion bars has a faulty tape measure or dyslexia or something. the 1278mm OME torsion bars are too $%#&ing short! Even though the ARB/OME parts lists claims that the 1278mm torsion bars apply to 1991-1994 models (and mine is a '93), it looks like I have to get a set of the 1995-2000 model torsion bars which are 1308mm.

ARRRGH!

On the bright side... it looks like the new 31" tires will fit fine without the small lift the OME kit would have provided, so at least I'll have some decent tread again seeing as we'll be traveling down to Hope after xmas.

Back to waiting for replacement parts for now. *sigh*

Edited to add: Anyone looking for a pair of 1278mm torsion bars? Being that the shop I purchased them from special-ordered the kit out of the states, its highly unlikely that I'll be able to return them. :-(
If you still have those new spare t bars and if they fit my lwb 94 can I buy them from you?

For pajero owners who have difficulty to source replacement coil springs,
we have heavy duty coil springs in stock for pajero LWB.
It is 1.2-1.3inch lifted up at rear when you install into your LWB pajero.

Also here’s regular replacement coil spring for LWB pajero.
You can use these coil springs for your SWB pajero 2 inch lift up ( See attached pic ).

I didn't change my torsion bars just had them adjusted and it worked out fine for me. The guy from Rocky road said you dont have to change them unless you will be carrying alot of weight, so I went with that and have been happy

Changed shocks and rear coil springs only

Yes he did to me also but my t bar on the driver side is sagged out. I adjust it and it slumps and over and over we go. So I figured with the new weight ill have I should get them.

I took GISdood's advice and bought the longer t-bars, I also got all my stuff from Rocky Road. I ordered OME springs, bars and 4 shocks. I have a 1994 LWB Paj 2.8, and I am thankful I bought the long t-bars. Talking to GISdood and his conversation with ARB, it looks like it's the 93 and 94 year its the engine size that decides the length of the t-bars. But, to double check you can take one out pretty easy with an impact gun and a 17mm box end wrench.

The ride is muuuuuuch better with OME. I bought a kit for a my land cruiser a few years ago, and I'll never buy anything else. I know GISdood had a problem with shock fitment, but mine all fit.

If you have any questions on install feel free to PM me, my uncle and I installed the t-bars, shocks, springs, pitman arm, idler arm, sway bar links and bushings all in one day. Rear shocks were an absolute BEAR to remove, but it saved me over $1700 in labour that I was quoted for the whole job. Backyard mechanic for the win!!!

OME is well worth the price, http://www.rocky-road.com/monterosus.html, and they are even cheaper than installing those adjustable Mitsu shocks. Everything bolted in nice and easy.
