There was a mashed one for sale here last month. So sad!

Nothing says "poor workmanship" more than wrinkles in the duct tape.

damaged on both sides... It's sad to see
And Mitsubishi refuses to make interesting vehicles now, it seems. At least they aren't selling any in North America.

They are a sweet ride....(what happens when an evo and a paj have kids).
There are so few of these left and only made for a few years. The 3.5 is unique to that model. Not found anywhere else.
My Pajero owning friend is thinking of selling his US Montero sport for the Paj-Evo. He usually does follow through with these 'wants'.

Yeah I joined the Dark Side because the medical plan is top shelf!

Re: the Pajero Evolution (aka PajEvo)
LOL... Pajero-owning friend has been told by wife that she loves "her truck" (03 Montero w/3.8) and so if I get a PajEvo, we will just have to go back to three vehicles again... Oh well... ;)
This is a few years off for me, but I have been doing some research... The jalopnik article referenced above gives a great deal of info for those interested. Here are some highlights I've picked up from around the web...
-3.5 DOHC Mivec was unique to this rig, dual stage intake, and 7500rpm redline
-front suspension uses coils instead of t-bars, and longer arms.
-rear susp is indy and is again unique to PajEvo
-front and rear Torsen LSDs! Can you say "handbrake trick"?
-plenty of alum sheetmetal
-lots of conflicting info on this, but it looks like 2500 were made in each year of 97, 98, and 99
As much as I loved the 4m4o, and would I'm sure love the 4m41, I can't get dreams of a dune-taming swb screamer with Dakar and Evo genes out of my head. If it happens, my seventh paj could be the last one I ever need!
