Hello fellow Delica owners...looking for a little guidance here.
So the other day, my digital clock, stereo, and lighter all stopped working. I checked the fuses and when I tried to replace the burnt fuse, it blew the new one when I inserted it. It did this more than once. I also just realized that my main headlights aren't working either. Only the outer ones are working.
So, are all these things connected? If my fuse box is shorting out, how do I go about fixing this?
Thanks!!
Angela

Re: Help..Electrical or Fuse Problem??
So after perusing the boards I read a post from Jay and Christine (TardisDeli) that pointed me in the direction of the fusible link. I took a look at all the wiring going to the fusible link and from what I can tell, nothing seemed fried. So I tried looking at the other wires other than the ones connected to the little black box, but I found it extremely hard to access any of them because they're buried behind the battery.
How are you supposed to get a good look at all the wiring? Should I even be worried about these ones? Do I need to take the batteries out? Do you need to access it from below? I am a complete novice when it comes to all this, but I do want to learn.
If anyone had any tips, I'd really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Angela

Re: Help..Electrical or Fuse Problem??
Its probably not your fusiable link because it supplies power to your fuse panel. So if your blowing fuses at the fuse panel something else is wrong, and taking out your fuse. The annoying thing is it could be anyone of the items you listed that have gone haywire, so it will be a challenge to find out which one . happy hunting cheers Jay.

Re: Help..Electrical or Fuse Problem??
I would look at the stereo wiring and the day light running lights as these are both add ons....
As bad as factory wiring can be it never seems to be worse than USER or Stereo shop wiring!!

OK..do you know what wires are for the headlights? But if this was the case, how does that explain the lighter and clock also not working? Maybe i have two things going on?

Troubleshooting wiring problems on a board can be challenging. Have you downloaded a circuit diagram? Very hard to troubleshoot without a road map to see how things are connected and related.

Re: Help..Electrical or Fuse Problem??
The way all those are connected are through the accessory to ignition wire.
ie: stereo comes on when the ignition is turned to accessory.
Clock comes on.. (ditto with the lighter)
I would start as was stated with the stereo power-on wire... see where the
installer connected it to. Something might be shorted/ing enroute.

Re: Help..Electrical or Fuse Problem??
Thanks guys. I have the manual but the diagrams are hard to read. Ill have to find a circuit diagram then.
The stereo thing makes sense to me and I think it actually was done poorly because I had to disconnect the amp awhile ago cause it was shorting out.
Hopefully I can figure this out. Not having headlights or a stereo is really shitty.
