Faulty gas gauge: a reason.

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Faulty gas gauge: a reason.

Post by north54 »

I always wondered why my gas gauge would drop to E when the tank ran below 1/2. The broken wires are the telltale sign. I'm gonna try rewind the thing. Anyone know what gauge of magnet wire something like this takes?

I don't think it's magnet wire. Typically NA vehicles use a 70 ohm resistance from empty to full. You would need to find out if the Delica is the same and if so that would determine the wire you need - both size and length. You could use a multimeter to measure the resistance of both top and bottom to get an idea what the resistance likely is. Good luck!
