maximum tire size for the vans

Post by surferboy »

Hi folks, i was wondering what kind of tire size range the delica can handle without having to modify anything or lifting the van, also, does wheel and tire package that we can get here in canada compatible with the hole pattern of the delicas? i remember some of you guys talking about certain issues like the center hole not fitting, having to modify the arches of the wheel well etc... how big can you go with the tires before it affects the load on the brakes and gas milleage? the dealer at vi custom car import told me that they were gonna replace the tires before i pick the van up but i'm not sure what they are gonna put on it yet, ... anyways, anybody with valuable knowledge about the subject that could help me out with infos would be great... cheers!

A 235/75/15 fit with the standard rim (6" wide), a 31" 10" 15 (7' rims) will fit the fender wells with different rims (more offset) and removing the stock mud flaps. There is info with photos on the aussie and UK Delica forums of fender mods to fit bigger tires without a lift.

Tire Size

Post by JD's Delica »

I have 30" x 9.5" without a front lift on the van and they JUST fit (with removing the front mud flaps. Without cranking the front up, no bigger tire will fit, mine rub on really tight turns ie parking lots.
The tires and rims I have on mine were put on at VI early July, so I imagine yours will be the same or similar.
Cheers

tire size?

Post by mitch »

When you guys are talking tire size are you talking on the stock delica rims? mine are the 6" wide alloy ones that are most common with 215/ 75/ 15 tires.. i think?? guy at Kaltire says I cant go any taller or wider on those rims. Is he full of it? anybody find a good tire that looks mean but good on the hwy?

The van is already raised 2"..

If I cant fit the tires on these rims anyone got a good line on a black steel wagon wheel 8"??
