L300 Stretch updates

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

My rad is likely newer than yours. 8-)
From what I've read on here, low readings are common. I even blocked half my rad with cardboard to help warm it up faster since I run on WVO, and made no difference. I have to climb the 'hat with that cardboard in there to get to 1/2. Even in the summer.

Different rads, perhaps, or different gauges... My rad was replaced when the bus was first refit after it arrived in Canada but that's all I know about it. The gauge is stock. Maybe there is a range in the calibration of the gauges where yours reads 1/4 at the same temperature that mine reads 1/2.
Anyway - sorry for the sidetrack highjack.
Things are looking good with the Stretch project. Milestone stuff getting the mill installed.

Mine always reads at 1/4 or below. I've changed rads, thermostats, and pretty much everything else on the cooling system and I can never get it above 1/4. I know this is the case with others too, and my mechanics never bat an eye at this.

I heard that the Lexus V8 was supposed to swap in easy. Any reason why you didn't go that route?

Parts availability for one, second, I wanted an engine with a little electronics as possible. A lot less can go wrong in the bushes if there are no electronic gremlins waiting around the corner.

there really is no better motor than a Chev small block...I have seen them turn 8,500rpm every shift for years.....

plus a rebuild cost nothing.... push rod V8 designed motors simple and effective

I cannot wait to see this thing lighting up 6 tires.... You might need more glue where the two trucks are joined.....

Personally I like fuel injection but a carb is nice if the fuel is questionable quality..

Road trip to Port McNeill?

Brought her home today (to KGA) to get the wiring and plumbing sorted out. Check out the wheel flex.

That is one skucum looking land ship you have there, Arnold! Great articulation with the rear trucks. Keep up the good work... smiles.
