Hi Mr. Pistacio,
got a quote from my state farm agent for a 95 l400 for 150/month, how does that sound? you comin from the wet coast? but that's living close to the GTA, that premium goes down the further you are from heavily populated areas. whereabouts are you guys headed in s. ontario?
hope that helps.
cheers.

I'm trying to move my ownership from BC to Ontario and I'm finding insurance impossible - (see http://www.delica.ca/forum/ontario-insu ... 11578.html.) I've tried State Farm and Co-operators and they both say "We used to do that but we don't write policies for right-hand drive vehicles anymore". Does anyone have any ideas for me - I'm at the end of my rope.

EDIT - Managed to get insured by Desjardins after getting an appraisal - all is well.

I was in the same boat a year ago. Moved from Alberta to S. Ontario with my 91 pajero & had to make a few calls before finding a decent policy at a fair rate. Ended up with Dominion & pleased so far.

I have been insured by Royal Sun Alliance. Desjardins are about the same price, so don't worry if you are paying a high rate (a RHD vehicle is costly no matter what). Royal Sun Alliance does not require a specific appraisal, but requires a valid safety check (which was cheaper in my opinion).

Ontario is not very nice for insurance particularly if you live within 300 KMs of Toronto. However I guess insurance/financial keeps the economy somewhat healthy.....

The only other province that is less RHD friendly is the Belle Province (Quebec).
