On my L400 petrol Delica, I have been having some interesting electrical issues. Last time I drove it, the power locks and electric windows would not work. When I start it up today, the locks and windows work, but the mirror retract and the cabin lights don't work. All the fuses seem fine.
The locks work fine when the engine is running , but when you shut it off, they stop working. The clock and radio also reset each time I shut off the van.
Any thoughts or ideas? I'm a bit clueless when it comes to electrics.

On further investigation, the door locks work when the ignition is on, but when the ignition is off, they do not...

My initial suspicion would be the Daytime Running Lights controller, but check all the fusible links near the battery too.
Nothing says "poor workmanship" more than wrinkles in the duct tape.

Checked both fuse boxes, everything is fine. Also noticed that my Auto Steps are not working. It seems to be anything that is run when the ignition is not on.Growlerbearnz wrote:My initial suspicion would be the Daytime Running Lights controller, but check all the fusible links near the battery too.

Sounds like a fuse still, you’ve lost permanent 12 volt if your stereo and clock reset each time.
Check the big fuses near the battery or on the under hood fuse block using a meter, a visual doesn’t always show the broken link.
