Front differential carrier bracket bushings

Post by Hitomi »

I am looking for a little advice here. I have just completed doing a bunch of work to my front end, and I have now noticed the the bushings that are pressed into the bracket that carries the front diff and inner axle are worn out and need replacing. I would like to complete this work without removing the entire axle just to remove the bracket and press out the bushings. Can they be pressed out and replaced or do you have to replace the entire bracket? There is not any details on this in the 95 space gear shop manual. My hope is that I can remove one bolt, rotate the bracket (if necessary), press out the bushing, replace, bolt and then repeat for the other mounting bolts one at a time. Does anyone have experience with this?

Front differential carrier bracket bushings

Hi H
I've replaced every one of the front bushings. Post a pic of the ones you are wanting info on. None were easy to replace but the only ones difficult required removal of the power steering pump, and axles. (sorry) The drivers side axle will free up quite easy but takes a little finesse. Can't remember having to press out anything. Hmmm

Pm me and come over. I'm in Coquitlam.
never easy but always doable
