TPS- revving high with light touch on accelerator

Post by Klecko »

Has happened twice. 2000 Delica L400 chamonix. Turn vehicle on touch gas lightly and rev s up to 2000-3000. Check engine light on........ first time left for a few hours and started up and went back to normal. Coincide or not. Auto start not working and after went to get looked at same thing happened. I am thinking TPS at foot pedal might be faulty. Any thoughts?

Diesel? Could be you aps (same as tps, just called aps on the series 2 if your looking for the part). You can test it with a multi meter. Would be handy to get the code being tossed.

Check this forum post, scroll down to post #8 it will tell you how to get the code without a code reader.
