NSR6 Bike Rack Opinions?
My family and I are looking at bike rack options, and one option that we are considering is the North Shore Racks NSR6.
Reviews on the NSR6 seem to be generally solid. Also, there seem to be few hitch-mounted alternatives for carrying 6 bikes. One concern, however, is the ability to fit kid-sized bikes on the NSR6 (due to the smaller frame size).
If anybody out there has tried carrying kids bikes on their NSR6, I would be most interested in thoughts on whether this will work or not.

Re: NSR6 Bike Rack Opinions?
We have an NSR 4 and it is the rack I wish I had bought first instead of messing around with other designs. You get what you pay for with this rack.
I have securely fit tiny bikes including 12 inch wheeled bmx and 20 inch wheel mini mountain bikes - you just have to get creative. For example on the mini bmx I hang the bike from the handlebar cross bar instead of the fork crown.
Would a picture be useful?

Go to Mobilehitch if you are in Vancouver and get at least a class 3 hitch for a NSR rack. They do a lot of Delicas there.

Re: NSR6 Bike Rack Opinions?
Thanks Chris & Dr -
I totally agree with Chris' viewpoint that its better to get a rack that works for the long run, and I'm encouraged to learn that kids bikes fit on the NSR.
Dr. - I certainly will followup with MobileHitch as well. From their website, they do not advertise any products to cary 6 bikes (max on their site seems to be 5). However, I'll see what they can tell me.

I went with an E&H hitch and NSR-4 North Shore rack...made for an expensive trip to the coast, but I am quite happy with that combo on our L300.

Re: NSR6 Bike Rack Opinions?
Looks AWESOME! (not to mention highly functional.)
I would add "Nice Rack" but that comment could earn me a slap in the face..

Re: NSR6 Bike Rack Opinions?
I too went with an E&H Hitch
Materials - Steel square tubing and brackets and misc. $130
Connectors and wiring harness - $25
Fabrication, welding, painting (labour) - $270
Wiring for lights (labour) - $40
Total with tax $520.80
But make sure you get them to bead blast and powder coat, cause 3 years later I had to bead blast the corrostion off and powder coat!
Hope this helps.

Re: NSR6 Bike Rack Opinions?
I haven't seen an NSR6 bike rack on the back of a Delica...but because that rack is wide and the Delica is narrow, there may be a chance that the outside bikes partly block the tail lights. Might be worth looking into before committing to that particular model.
Having a North Shore Rack does make for some interesting shadows!

Re: NSR6 Bike Rack Opinions?
I have the NSR4 and it's awesome (I think you saw it at one of the meets Mark!?) when talking to the couple who sell them they informed me that they have yet to find a bike that won't fit on it. Also, they told me that the 6 bike rack is actually a very similar width to the 4 the bikes just sit closer together but since I did the same thing as Trailmaster and got my hitch at the same time the cost was just too much to upgrade.

Reviving an old thread.
Does anybody have a side shot of the NSR on a Deli? I'm debating on the NSR6 or Softride Hang5. I'm just worried the Softride will stick out to far.

Re: NSR6 Bike Rack Opinions?
How big do you want it and how long are you willing to wait for the thread to load?
This started with someone posting an image of a wheel but all we could see was one of the lug nuts.
There was a complaint about this as the page itself took a long time to load.
The current allowable image size is 960px wide by 900px height.
The maximum attachment file size is 800KiB, seven attachments per post.
Falco.
