Installed new headlights. The old ones were cracked and the chrome interior had dulled, which I had spray painted with chrome paint to try to fix but it was not ideal. I bought these
https://www.crazythegod.com/car-brand/m ... i-lhd.html. I thought about the LED versions but I really don't like the look and they are $100 US more expensive...

I'll aim them tonight... :)

Took some time in isolation to finish up a wooden steering wheel I started over a year ago...
I'd glued up a couple of blanks for turning

Peeled off all the rubber and plastic from the steering wheel

That has to be your best project to date!! I think even Growler would be really impressed. Great use of your spare time. What's next it seems we will have a few months left to isolate.

I found some switches and an LED marker lamp in my box of odds and sods...
so, I made up a glow plug ECU bypass switch just in case the ECU dies, as they are known to do...
Tapped into the 12v relay:

and used the wire I'd run to the dash for the previous parasitic draw disconnect, now redundant.
I wired in an indicator lamp and a toggle switch to turn off the circuit unless I need it, (just for fun)

The lamp illuminates regardless of if the toggle is on or off, so basically it is a momentary switch that turns on a lamp!

Its a two-part polyurethane truck-bed liner. $199CAN for 4 litres including the spray gun. Easy to apply, very little over-spray. You really have to be meticulous about your prep work. Lots of washing, degreasing and scuff-sanding.
I cleaned up the mirrors and wiper arms with a Tremclad spray-bomb while I was at it.

Finished up the horn button. A little Ipé, a little copper plate, a little bit of Corian counter-top material.

I picked up a few 10ftx2x6's last weekend and broke the altimeter/tippy-over gauge pod off it's moorings...again...
and my AC crapped out this season, compressor is seized...
so this is my new set-up:

$40. solved two problems. (I'll hang on to the pod gauges and fix them someday...)

Rear Bumper Rust

In July 2014 I took off a rusted rear bumper and figured to solve the problem for good buy removing the rust and painting it with POR-15 the king of rust paints! I was looking for rust in other places this fall ( I hate rust ) and found the underside looked rusted again. After taking it apart this last week I was right. It's to cold to paint outside so I've taken the pieces to be power coated. Hopefully it will last @ least 5 or 6 years. I put in a trailer hitch in 2015 and had it powder coated. It still looks good as the day I put it on. Results to follow next year.
