Re: what did you do WITH your delica today
Got my first negative nancy today (to my face, sort of, anyway). Allow me to explain:
I went to CT running some errands today without realizing that it is the first weekend they have their garden center open. This tends to bring in all sorts of "spectacular" clientele, so it was uber packed. Well, I was pulling down a row to park and I had my window cracked (still unable to get rid of the strange smell coming from the engine bay- another long story for another time) and I saw this rather large man with a cigarette dangling from his mouth, while his even larger son was replacing something on the mirror of his Dodge in the parking lot. As I am about right up beside him he turns to his "beautiful" wife and exclaims rather loudly "Now that is ugly!" I have never been more tempted to slam on the brakes, unroll the window, and reply "Well, so are you. P.S. Walking or some sort of exercise would help you loose your Grimace (McDonalds Reference) like shape."
But I didn't. I just parked and got out of the right side of my vehicle and walked inside. Maybe next time.

Re: what did you do WITH your delica today
Well I tried today in the afternoon to enrich the fuel pump a little bit at the fuel screw following Tony's post. ( it had been turn back a bit before ,so this attempt is just to get back to the original as close as possible )Removed the intercooler, battery as well as sideways the lines . I can reach the 13 mm nut with the long socket but no way I can feed the screw driver into the screw. This is an attempt before lossening the nut though as I got a feeling I cannot do that even with my tinny hand. So with no fun , I cleaned the intercooler with WD 40 ,let sit for 5 minutes and put everything back . Started the van and lots of black smoke ,wondering it may be cos of the WD 40 !

Re: what did you do WITH your delica today
Oiled my viscous fan ,was still oil in there but squirted another 18ml tube in.Snapped bolt when i was putting the fan back on.SHIT i said to my self, so i took the pulley off and found a bit of bolt left in the waterpump but it wound out easily phew! Didnt make a difference to the temp the coolant still sits at 85-90 and engine watchdog sits at 90-93C. Also started the trims for the back.

Re: what did you do WITH your delica today
My daughter decided to express her creativity by redesigning my dash with colourful black sharpie. Argh. So I have been expiramenting with many different ways to remove sharpie from the dash. I have tried rubbing alcohol, wd-40, simple green, and spary nine. The marks are still faintly there, so I guess Mr. Clean Magic Eraser is next. Kids.....

Permanent Sharpies are alcohol based. Try using a little methylated spirits on a rag. Don't use too much as it can dry out your surface. Another thing that I will use for something like this is oil, like Ballistol, just a little bit on a cloth.
The only thing else I could recommend to you is hook your daughter up with Luisito and the Moon Unit.

Re: what did you do WITH your delica today
Had a fun afternoon putting out some geocaches for an event
coming out. I hate the in-city, micro ones so of course mine were
all of decent size out in the boonies.
We just had 55mm of rain so the drainage area of the North Saskatchewan
River had some minor sandy mud goose poopish holes. I hesitated
at all 6 spots but after scouting them said wth and went for it.
Between the new tires and being careful the cache placements went
great.
I'm glad I didn't get stuck, didn't really have an extraction team available :)
Anyone here geocache?

Re: what did you do WITH your delica today
Drove out to pick up my other van. I missed that cranky old bugger. Wife got to drive the Delica home and I got the Westy. Sure made me realize how important it is to have acceleration! I looked like the leader of a parade on the highway with a large line behind me. Oh well, such is life when your van has a whopping 80 horses.
BTW- I was poking around in the van and I found something interesting. Wedged in between the rear bumper plastic and the back latch was a 2 dollar Australian coin. Weird...since the vehicle came from Japan. I wonder if my Deli has been more of a world traveller than I originally thought.
