The annual model year change dates back to the 1920s, as a way of artificially inflating demand for new cars. The next year's models are always introduced late the year before. I thought everybody knew that? :?

My trusty old VW Jetta is a 1986 model, registered and licensed accordingly, but was manufactured in October 1985. If you were to privately import one, she would have been eligible in October 2000, despite being a 1986 model.

92 nov means 92 not 93 according to icbc, you can not register it as 93.
so you're telling me they haven't registered a single 2008 vehicle yet? I have a hard time believing that....
if the mfger declaring as 2008, yes of course. But who we are to declare? On form 1 we all are using first regi date as mfg date even if it is not the production date. so the production date is at least couple months earlier than first regi date.
Actually, on form 1 you use the manufacture date as well as the "model year" and it is here, the model year, where you can put what model the vehicle is for. These vehicles show 1993 here which is why you can register them as such.

A friend of mine, actually a previous buyer of one of my vehicles, advised me to use this platform and advertise my vehicles and I did. However, I didn't know I would be getting into a whole new disucssion of what is considered 93 or 92. The purchase as well as the sale price is determined by the quality and the condition of the vehicle and not by year. I hope that we have resolved the year issue now.

Like all Internet forums, people don't just beat dead horses: they beat the damp spot where the dead horse used to be.

My Delica suits me just fine, but when people ask "Where did you get that? Can I get one?" I appreciate seeing what's out there so I can tell people who to talk to.

Don't let one unfortunate event ruin it for everybody.

I know when I traced the VIN from my 1968 VW Truck it came back as a "made in August 1967" It was then shipped and sold out of Washington in early 1968 as a 1968 model. 68 is a lot different than a 67. BUT, when I started the rebuild I found some '67 parts mixed in with the 68 stuff. Some of the wiring, e-brake cables and some brake stuff were all 1967. ALmost like it got caught halfway through the assembly line and they threw on some leftover 1967 parts.

As far as the earlier comment about the older style headlights on a newer regi'd Delica, it could be a crossover ?? or maybe something fishy going on with number tags..............

Vehicle manufacturers stay ahead of the production game be building the next year models ahead of time. Otherwise just think.........hmmmm,it's January 1 2008, lets start building the '08's now. Maybe we can get them on the lots by May or early June!! 8-) 8-)

Thanks, Laura - it is just that some other dealers and I am not going to name names thought by posting my delicas as 1993 I had an advantage and started this whole episode of what is 93 and what is not. This has happened before where this forum was used to discredit a certain dealer's vehicles and it wasn't for the purpose of sharing information, not at all.

These tidbits everyone's talking about are what would be great to have altogether on this site somewhere for people looking for first time information on Delicas.
