i have seen threads on other sites where everyone posts their favorite pics of their ride back to back on the same thread.. an awesome way to get a quick deli-pic fix without rooting through multiple posts...

I think a gallery application would be great for that instead of a post imojunichi wrote:i have seen threads on other sites where everyone posts their favorite pics of their ride back to back on the same thread.. an awesome way to get a quick deli-pic fix without rooting through multiple posts...

Re: picture gallery
Photo gallery is a great idea, and easy to set up -- I'm in a time pinch right now (won't have this set up tonight), but should something this up and running within a week.
One that I'm quite familiar with is Coppermine -- any thoughts on the relative pros & cons of Coppermine versus PHPGarage?

Re: picture gallery
coppermine is a simple photo album, whereas phpgarage is so much more, it allows you to list all the modifications you've done to your vehicle, including photos and rating the shops you bought them at, compare insurance premiums, everything vehicle related is in there. I've been using it on the uk site for a while and it's really nice for showing off your vehicle.

Re: picture gallery
Would you happen to know the URL for "phpGarage" (I'm having some difficulty finding this script)...
Thanks!
Mark
PS -- one feature that would be REALLY nice is if the present user table for delica.ca could be shared by the photo site (meaning that members would only need to login once, rather than creating a separate login for the photo site). Do you happen to know if phpGarage has this functionality?
Thanks!

Re: picture gallery
http://www.phpbbgarage.com/
login appears to follow phpbb and in fact integrate itself in the board (ie. when you click on a user's profile it also links to their vehicles in the garage)

Re: picture gallery
Thanks Green1.
PhpGarage Looks like a cool modification -- however, there does not seem to be a version of phpGarage for phpBB3 (the UK site is still using phpBB2, and probably for this reason).

Re: picture gallery
phpbbgarage seems ideal, if it's not able to integrate with phpbb3, you might have some luck with gallery... I haven't checked if can integrate with 3, but I know that it can integrate with phpbb2 logins... might be worth a look.

Re: picture gallery
Green1's suggestion of phpbbGarage seems to be the most promising platform. Unfortunately, Version 2 (works with phpBB3) is only in Beta testing mode.
Sample installation of Version 1:
http://forums.phpbbgarage.com/garage.php
From the discussion in the thread below, it sounds like it'll be a few weeks at least until a stable Version 2 is available that can be installed on http://www.delica.ca:
http://forums.phpbbgarage.com/viewtopic.php?t=673
My inclination is to wait for a stable Version 2 (rather than installing another platform at this time such as Coppermine). Any other thoughts?
