Any reccommended WVO kits?
Where have people ordered their WVO kits from? Any suggestions on which ones are better? Anyone using a WVO conversion in Calgary?

Hi Archibald,
Did you search under the WVO Forum?
http://www.delica.ca/forum/wvo-and-biodiesel-12/
Sorry I can't help you more, but if anyone has done or thinks of doing a WVO install in the Vancouver area we should hook up as I'd be interested as well... I'll start a new post with proper title once I'm ready to go ahead.

Re: Any reccommended WVO kits?
I am looking at the two tank system that plantdrive offers. Does anyone have any experience with this system?
http://www.plantdrive.ca/shop/product.p ... 259&page=1
I like that it comes with that tank, I was thinking about installing one in the spare tire area, but this would be better for me.
It says SVO, but I want to run WVO, will this one allow me to do that?

Re: Any reccommended WVO kits?
There are few people on the board that have installed a Plant Drive kit. You should be able to find most of them with the search function. Here's an outline of my install: http://www.delica.ca/forum/another-plan ... -1039.html
This is the kit I bought with the description on the US site: http://www.plantdrive.com/shop/product. ... t=3&page=1
Note that it is $50 cheaper on the CDN site, but there is not description: http://www.plantdrive.ca/shop/product.p ... 269&page=1
I looks like the price has dropped by about $100 since I bought my kit last year.

I went with the plantdrive kit because it was Canadian. I am pretty happy with it so far. I am also using the VO controller, (the cheaper one without the display) and it was money well spent.
SVO and WVO is a different way of saying the same thing. SVO = straight vegetable oil WVO is waste vegetable oil. SVO could be said when referring to brand new oil but other than that, same thing.

Wow!! That is a lot cheaper!! Although I have to add the tank for 200 bucks http://www.plantdrive.ca/shop/product.p ... t=0&page=2 , and then buy hose. Which it says typical installation in a car will use 150 bucks worth of hose or 200 for a truck. So... 800 bucks. Thats better. And I may not require that much hose after all.

Re: Any reccommended WVO kits?
Those tanks look good for use inside the van, Josh bought one he'd be a good person to ask about them. If you are looking to mount something underneath in the spare tire spot you might want to try the auto wreckers to get a used 15 Gal tank. I think the old Jeep CJ tanks and the Jimmy/Blazer circa 2000 tanks will fit in that spot. Oh, and you should probably give BCDelica's post a read if you haven't already, there's a ton of good info in there: http://www.delica.ca/forum/my-2-year-up ... t-412.html

Mentioned before that a marine tank could, with persuasion (big hammer) fit the tire hanger. You could go big with a Below Deck Permanent Fuel Tank (29-Gallon, 43" x 25.75" x 8.63"), this one was my fav - Moeller 19 Gallon Marine Fuel Tank, 18.5"W, 20"L, 9.5"D, 30"W, or a Moeller 12 Gal. Marine Fuel Tank, 18.5"W, 24.5"L, 7.25"D. These are nice options for the money, coming with fittings and gauge senders. Better deal then a http://www.4secondsflat.com/fuel_tank_index.html, a $425 11 gal Alum spare wheel tank. Just found it in a little WVO wish list bookmark folder, for $159 on Amazon.com (that's it below). Seem to remember that it would fit and could be held up with the spare tire cage. Please measure carefully before ordering!

A topside marine tank would be a possible option for someone not willing to relocate the spare. How often do you really use one; a tire plug kit, foam spray stuff, BCAA membership, and a compressor could fix more flats quicker then changing a tire. Off course, never go offroad without a spare.

This is 18 gallons, $139, and only 7.25" deep, if that 36.5 width is fine fitting down under your Deli - http://www.amazon.com/Moeller-Marine-Be ... 77&sr=1-54

Re: Any reccommended WVO kits?
I also chose plantdrive. It was recommended by people who had been using it and the $1000 kit, with 60L tank, appeared to be the most economical. It came with almost everything needed (no wiring or nuts and bolts). I figure I spent an additional 50-100 for small items. In hindsight, I'm very happy with my choice.

Re: Any reccommended WVO kits?
Has anyone considered mounting the tank on the front-end of the Delica?? It would reduce hose lengths, and still provide easy access for filling/cleaning, etc.. I was picturing a narrow tubular tank, but I haven't come accross anything like that yet.. I am considering the plantdrive system , and don't want to relocate the spare... Where would one mount the narrow flat marine tank that was posted?? thanks

Re: Any reccommended WVO kits?
Spare mounted on the front - that's the solution I'm pondering as well. My old VW bus had a second spare mount off the front bumper. It looks like it would be easy enough to rig on the Delica. Would there be issues with that extra weight on the front end / bash bar? It's a more convenient spot that under the vehicle when you do get a flat, and not in your way like one mounted on a swing-out hanger off the back.

Happy Day!

Re: Any reccommended WVO kits?
Yep, just like that. Nice rig you have there Adam. Thanks for the picture. Great to know it's a viable option. The factory spare mount spot is ideal for the wvo fuel tank and the route to go for me, for sure. Any tips on the front mount project you'd be willing to share? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks again - Btw, you look like your set up for some serious water crossing there - very cool.

Happy Day!

Re: Any reccommended WVO kits?
I wish that were my rig. It is just a random pic I came across while searching for snorkel options. I too am looking for a spare tire mount option so that I can fit my WVO in the spare tire spot. This was the only front spare tire mount I came across, most throw the tire on the roof or mount them on a swing away arm mounted on the bumper, which will probably be what I end up doing, once BCDelica gets his design posted
