remove and replace the intercooler pipes with mandrel bent metal ones you can do in stainless
or just exhaust pipe with 3" of rubber over each end and 4 hose clamps
stops the hoses from contracting under load
or even cheaper but needs maitenence a zip tie every couple of cm apart on origonal hoses cuts down on lag get your self a unifilter $88.00 aud
i save bout 100km a tank since i got it
good luck

100km per tank that you save ?
A 20% decrease in fuel consumption by changing the pipes over the metal ?
Where's that fiddle ?

Re: nice cheap turbo mod 4 L400
unsure what your question is so i've answered the best i can
if you could make your question clearer for a slow aussie like me. i can answer more directly
no by fitting unifilter i get a fuel saving of 20% its not a decrease in consumption in my book (unless your backward)
metal intercooler pipes cut down on lag
sorry for any confusion
just trying to help

Re: nice cheap turbo mod 4 L400
mardy your pipes are great when it arrives you should get them copied (minus blow-off valve)
it goes psst when you change gears
the blow vave is designed to realease under extreme load (during realease of accelerater) to prevent the turbo fins from stopping suddenly by realeseing the back pressure created by acceleration also to prolong the life of the turbo
however unless your driving like a maniac all the time not really nescersary (personal opinion )
i hope i didn't balls up this explanation
if ya want to see how much the standard pipes contract while acelerating get some one else to sit in drivers seat and rev (watch em move )
hope this helps

happy easter
